Now, in this 2018-midterm election season, as some predict a blue wave of resistance to Trump, his policies and alarming authoritarianism, Republicans want to split up the Democratic political opposition and divide black and Latino voters. And Russia looks like it wants to help here, too. But this time it won't work.
The most recent example of this strategy is the #WalkAway hashtag, which is presented as a grassroots effort by former Democrats who are critical of the party's alleged intimidation, confrontation and lack of civility and want people to walk away from the party.

If the problem is Russian bots tweeting reasons the Dems are bad, then lefties have an easy response:
Get Iranian bots to tweet 100,000 reasons the Dems are good. (I assume Iran would be their best ally but maybe Mexico has enough bots)
Voters can read both sets of tweets, pro and anti-D, and make up their own minds.
If the problem is that these are not bots or that the Dems don’t have any reasons people should stay with them then all they can do is try to delegitimize #walkaway by calling it bots and hope D voters are not exposed to rational anti-Dem arguments.
Now I get it — anyone who walks away from the Democratis party line is controlled by a Russian bot.
Every time there is a movement that hurts Democrats, they claim it’s Russian bots. They cannot understand how anyone can disagree with them legitimately.

Perhaps there should be a meme: GIFs of cute little robots with Russian hats and boots dancing the mazorka, with satirical lines underneath. “Trump for world peace” and such.
