Part of the big sell off of the bankruptcy of 2009................
This is great. At least 20 pretentious college professors are panting for the chance to buy an obscure French car. The other professors will continue to drive Subarus, and all the normal people will keep on driving what they’re driving. Good luck, Frenchies!
It’s a once in a generation ritual. Once the last Peugeot suckers are in their retirement dementia years, along comes French cars.
THX.
Great. Another answer to a question no one asked.
GM sold Opel a couple years ago.
It’s a shame, too, since this German hot rocket had been a winner in the US.
(Back in the 70s...)

Then to be a success with this “market segment,” they will have to “reintroduce” the Citroen 2CV replete with Swastikas on the sides. and a Peace Symbol on the hood!
It's interesting but there are a handful of Yugo aficionados around the USA who somehow manage to keep their Yugos running. Talk about "collectors" item! I doubt that in the whole USA there are more the five or six in running condition, if that.
Their timing could be better. If the tariffs are permanent then I'd bet that changes their plans.
Every seen a Citroen? The Yugo looks solid and reliable by comparison.
I believe GM sold Opel, with the proviso that Opels not be sold in the United States.
There is a way around this, however, if PSA wants to take it. When GM was making Saturns (which it shouldn’t have stopped doing), the body styles were based on Opel models. The Saturn Aura body, for example, while it was virtually identical to the Impala, was based on the Opel Vectra.
PSA should buy the Saturn brand, the nameplate, and go back to making “domestic Opels” as Sautrns.
BTW, Opel is Vauxhall in Britain.
PSA bought Opel from GM last year.
Hey! I love my Subie!
Hell
-The food is British
-The cars are French
-The police are German
And the whole thing is run by Italians
Yeah, but they also made this gem.
It took then that long to find a buyer!.................
Knock em if you want, but Peugeot made a great car, they were built like a tank and my daughters saved her life because of it. Now even though they were well built they were a nightmare to work on because everything was so compacted, pretty much how all modern cars are now.
