I have the exact same rifle. They were really well made.
It is one of the few guns I saved after having to sell just about everything I owned. The idea was that I could save a few pounds of Pyrodex etc. and a few hundred caps. I could still use it to hunt with even if all my ammo gave out.
In a real emergency I could make my own black powder. I know it can be done because my Brother has done so.
A few years ago, I broke the ramrod. It splintered in a very rough way, actually perfect for epoxying it back together. I haven’t used it since so don’t know if it is strong enough.
The wood ramrods make me nervous.
