DOJ Releases Carter Page FISA Applications

DOJ has released 412 pages of top-secret documents related to surveillance conducted against former Trump campaign chairman Carter Page.

Documents include an Oct2016 application and three renewal applications for FISA warrants against Page.

The NYT and other news outlets obtained the applications through a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit.

“The FBI believes Page has been the subject of targeted recruitment by the Russian government,” reads the FISA application.

“the FBI believes that Page has been collaborating and conspiring with the Russian government,” reads the initial FISA application, dated Oct. 21, 2016. The DOJ and FBI obtained 3 additional FISAs in Jan,Apr,Jun 2017.

The application also says that the FBI had probable cause to believe that Page engaged in “clandestine intelligence activities” and is an agent of a foreign power.

Republican and Democrats on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence previously released highlights from the documents. A memo released by Committee Chairman Devin Nunes has revealed that the DOJ and FBI relied heavily on the Democrat-funded Steele dossier in the FISA applications.

The dossier is the first piece of evidence cited in the FISA application section laying out the allegations that Page coordinated with Russian government officials on election-related “influence activities.”

Section cites information from “Source #1” who alleged that during a trip to Moscow in July 2016, Page met secretly with two sanctioned Kremlin insiders, Igor Sechin and Igor Diveykin, as part of a collusion scheme involving the Trump campaign.

Source appears to be Christopher Steele, former British spy who wrote the dossier.

Steele alleged in the dossier that Page worked with Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort to exchange information with Russian operatives. Page has vehemently denied the dossier’s allegations, and says he has never spoken to Manafort. He also says he has never met Sechin and Diveykin while denying that he is a Russian agent.

Page was going to be the way they would take down Trump, by Association, but Carter Page never met Trump.

He wasn’t even allowed in the huge meetings at tables that seat 50 people.

They bet on Page - and they lost.

Later, they would grasp at 28 yr old nobody named Papadopoulos.

Page better thank his lucky stars he never made it into one of the large Conference meetings, or he would’ve been indicted. Overwhelm the defendant, and all.

Without ever having met Trump, Page was of no interest whatsoever to Prosecutors.

I believe that 70% of the released document was redacted. President Trump refused to release the total unredacted documents. President Trump is acting like a fool. It would not hurt him to release to Congress. It does prove he has no respect for Congress.

Correct me if I am wrong; but, Carter Page was never a campaign chairman for the Trump Presidential Campaign. At best he was a second or third tier wantabee.

I guess the Daily Caller and its reporter Chuck Ross are off their med, again, as normal.

It’s filled with blacked out material. Yes the dossier was part of the “justification” but they also referenced speculations in newspapers (which they themselves likely “fed”) as part of the justification. The blacked out material is likely similarly weak bullcrap. Pathetic! I’m embarrassed that those idiots are in MY country’s government.

So am I. But along with it is anger at their unrestrained lawlessness. It is a bureaucrap form that has infiltrated almost all of the Fed Agencies at some level. It is not a part of the culture of these "United States", and was fully anchored in place during the Obozo regime.

The FBI and the DOJ lied to the FISA Court with Page. They no undoubtedly lied on other FISA requests. I suspect that this was SOP within the Obamalamadingdong Administration. It’s not nice to mess with Mother Nature.

This is why Brennan, other than being a complete A-hole, is whining like a stuck pig about Trump. His fingerprints are all over this dossier making its way to the FBI, the DOJ and their asinine use of it in a FISA warrant.

Looing forward to his frog-march before all is said and done.

Yeah, they butchered that.

He’s never met Trump in his life.

Oh, but he was. There is something called the two-hop rule. It allows the FBI to read the emails of not only the target , but all the emails of anyone who he sent an email to. So, Page was on a commission. He had to of had at least an email from the head of the commission. Now the head of the commission must have sent at least one email to someone in the campaign - Trumps campaign manager, Donald Trump Jr., or Trump himself. So becuase of the two-hop rule, they would be able to read all the emails that Trump sent, Trump Jr. sent, of the campaign manager - if the head of the commission ever sent an email to one of these people. You know he must have sent one to them. Most likely, h ereceived a form letter from Trump or Trump Jr. thanking him for heading the commission. Of course, as a courtesy, he would reply- Thank You , I am honored .... BINGO, they now have a wasy to read Trumps emails without a warrant. So that is what they needed Page for. Someone who had access to someone who would have sent an email to Trump or someone high up in the campaign

Your correct, Manafort was the Campaign chairman from March to August 2016.

Carter Page was a foreign-policy adviser to Donald Trump during his 2016 Presidential election campaign.

I’ve not read the .pdf of the FISA warrant yet. I doubt it is searchable, so it will take a while to digest.

One correction. What I stated would be three hops. Just remove the head of the commission. I am sure every member of the commission would have received the same form letter, or Page himself could have on his own sent an email to Trump or Trump Jr. or the campaign manager - before he ever joined the commission ( offering his services ). That would fall under the two-hop rule.

Yep, not a campaign chairman, in fact barely even part of the campaign. Same with Papdopolous.

correct me if I have the date wrong, but wasn’t Page testifying as an informant for the FBI in March of 2016 in a Russian spy case?

I don't know. It is possible. It is very clear that he is not and was not what he was charged with. The first of many people improperly indicted.

He is involved in many more serious criminal acts while with the Obama Administration.

His lies have already defined him.

It is time for honest evaluation of these and related abuses, and charge, try, convict and punish appropriately.

Page was used to get the investigation going. He was not the target and could be a mole. He had been an informant for the FBI.

Carter was a Trump campaign chairman?

I don't think so.

Carter Page was a Beltway lizard who took work from anyone willing to pay him. He was with the Clinton campaign, then worked as an informant, was set up to negotiate oil & gas contracts with Russian oligarchs who reportedly shunned him because he didn't have the experience they could respect. Then he found work associated with the Trump campaign, he was installed as a plant, the FISA court was asked to declare him the highest level spy possible, even more harmful than the Rosenbergs. and the deep state CIA/FBI set about monitoring his every move and the entire communications and movements of anyone he came into contact with, which was by design as Carter Page was made the "Radioactive Surveillance Rabbit" by which they could spy on everything and anything inside the Trump campaign.
