If you understood Musk’s long term strategy, you’d see subsidies only made it easier, vs possible.
Yeah. Taxpayer subsidies allow him to sell electric cars 50 years before they are commercially viable on their own. Whooppee. The government mis-allocates massive amounts of tax money. Again. Just like they have been shoving solar down our throats 50 years before the market would have embraced it on its own. Big deal.
Look at compact florescent light bulbs. The government shoved that down our throats too, despite the market rejecting them without massive taxpayer subsides. Then LEDs come along and steal the market overnight, because they ARE a market based solution. Now if you have a compact florescent in your home like my home was MANDATED to do, when the bulb burns out you have to order one from a lighting and electrical specialty store and wait 10 days for delivery, because they were such a horrendous failure that not even lighting and electrical stores stock them anymore.
The government constantly picks losers and supports them with massive taxpayer subsidies. It makes me sick to my stomach, the massive waste of taxpayer money that could be used for something sensible.
