I get it and get Trump’s point. The problem centers around the old 17th Amendment and our Senators who are elected by outside the States’ interests. Interests like international major tobacco industry pushers of legalization for their own bottom line. The ones who will end up owning the growers, just like they own tobacco growers now.

That’s point one.
Point two is... the clinical benefit argument, which is demonstrably not there... except for the component non-psychoactive cannabinoid Cannabidiol or CBD oil. As produced in small percentage in average hemp plants. And produced 99% in genetically patented plants from Israel, that also produce zero, NO THC. For CBD oil which does have significant clinical benefit and has just been approved by FDA as a component of an antiseizure drug from the UK. Legal, non-psychoactive, and anti-seizure.

The rest of the “medical” babble is just that, from growers and processors who want and.... need the psychoactive habituation of THC to sell their product. Personal argument for me, just as it is in tobacco— is the smoking of vegetable product that produces major carcinogens (100s more of them in c. sativa). Cancer. Vape the oil— not so— no smoke, no tar. Clinical benefit from either method for THC— it’s not there. CBD...it is. But, no high-— so.....

So, the vaping of THC is supported through US major corps (inclucing Big Tobacco) because of the “line extension” of another habituating agent. Not a fan of that at all. And do not care what someone over 50 does- smoke or no.

Repeal the 17th— then we can talk about our dear Senators and “local, State” control.

_____

The states have already told fedgov to eff off in this matter, if you’ll pardon my French, and made it stick. They have asserted their legitimate authority under the Tenth Amendment, and Sessions or anybody else is not going to do squat. Trump rules the roost!

I’m not going to wait for the 17th to be repealed before taking the side of the 10th Amendment against the fraudulent FDR/LBJ Commerce Clause when the opportunity presents itself.
