Great, they’ve invented plants that aren’t pretty and you can’t eat them or even use them for anything else. Do they at least burn? Fuel would be useful.

CO2 is not a pollutant, it is plant food. Why would they remove it from the atmosphere? That would be suicide.

Collecting “tonnes” of CO2 using “tonnes” of plastic does not seem like a very environmental friendly solution!

"This mineral can be used to absorb just some of the “excess” CO2."

What could possibly go wrong?! There Is No Global Warming From CO2! Glaciation and melting are natural cycles. I reject their BS premise.

Scientists have found a rapid way of producing magnesite, a mineral which stores carbon dioxide.

Sounds like the opening to a sci-fi novel. The substance works. Too well. Replicates and absorbs all the CO2 on the planet, resulting in the killing off of all plant life. In 20 years, Earth becomes a desert.

Smirk. Manufacturing something always costs more in energy or in this case, adsorption, than it produces, so , a net add to the CO2 “issue”. They really are mad. But is sells well with the general population that believes the initial li at the outset.

“Can’t they just plant, more plants?”

I’ve wondered that for a long time.

Actually, more CO2 in the atmosphere makes plants grow more, which takes out CO2.

Trees and plants need CO2!

We ain’t nowheres near the abilities and brains we would needs to actually control the climate and not bollix it up in a very bad way....someone sees a path to some big money while not doing anything positive for humanity.

This plant is a C02 absorber at a very high rate compared to it's size.

oh yippie- so instead of the atmosphere having 0.00136% CO2 due to man- it will now have 0.00126%

It's currently 0.04% by volume or 0.06% by mass.

Suuuuure .... take all noticeable CO2 out of the atmosphere, starve all the trees to death ... what a hoot...

This would use a lot of magnesium. Start investing in it just in case this crazy scheme starts up.

“Excellent work and great news...This is the kind of scientific approach should be taken, instead of using the threat of “global warming” to cripple entire industries.”

What you say implies that the Left actually WANTS to solve their ‘issue’. But they are Leftists, and they DO NOT want to solve the issue - they want to use it as a club, to beat down the West, to make us Third World.

So don’t expect this to go anywhere.

Magnesite and Mountain Dew?

The Himalayan mountain range is still uplifting. Maybe 2"/year. I'm pretty sure magnesite is being exposed, bonding with CO2

The threat of global warming is over. Go back to your regularly scheduled programming. But now we are all going to die due to lack of oxygen!!!

So no CO2 in the atmosphere eh? Hmm.... Plant life thrives with CO2 at 1600ppm, we are currently around 400ppm. We are essentially starving our plants now as it is. If we reduce down to less than 300ppm, nearly all plant life on the planet will die off, then animals and eventually humans will follow.

Essentially anyone wanting to reduce CO2 is a genocidal maniac.

How do they plan on keeping minerals in the air?

Mountains come out of the sky and they stand there. If

More likely put one of these plants along side a coal or nat gas power plant, and take the CO2 so that those plants are now green!
