Michael Hayden Warns: Impeachment Would Be Viewed as ‘Soft Coup’
Big Government ^ | 8/24/18 | Joshua Caplan

Michael Hayden, the former director of the National Security Agency (NSA), warned Thursday that impeaching President Donald Trump would have unintended consequences and could further delegitimize the intelligence community.

Hayden, a frequent critic of President Trump, told Hill.TV’s Krystal Ball and Buck Sexton that he believes “impeachment would be a bad idea.”

“If President Trump is somehow forced to leave office before the end of his first term, one-third of America will believe it was a soft coup conducted by people, well frankly like everybody here at the table would be their view,” Hayden said. “I think the only way we move beyond this in any way that’s healthy for our democracy is we vote,” the Obama-era intelligence official added.

We are already in civil war. Only the battlefield isn’t the traditional. It’s fought by taking over one organization at a time very slow. We are currently losing. We have lost culture, education, law enforcement, and close to losing capitalism and borders.

This!!!!!

There’s a scholarly paper in there somewhere…
Irregular Warfare: Tactics for belligerents “armed with bongs and dildoes.”

The Republicans will hold their grip on the House and they will pickup between six & ten Senate seats in the November elections. Trump may be impeached...but he will not be voted guilty by the Senate. Game over!!!

I'd add organized religion and traditional family units.

"Or maybe he recognizes that this would be the shot that starts a hot CW2"

I sure hope so. The coup plotters need to know that they would not live to enjoy the fruits of their treachery.

Makes you wonder if the government has ever considered this scenario... for if/when there is a civil war.

I would have to say yes and they have probably calculated its successes and failures.

Frist would be if the police cannot control a situation. Then the national guard. One effective way of controlling the population is to shut down all communication. That means the Internet, radios, cell phones, etc.

The goal would be to pacify the citizenry before any major bloodshed.

They know that Americans are armed. But as individuals we have vulnerabilities such as food and water. They might try to wait a situation out. Might be a week, month, or year.

I am no expert but you can count on the government doing an analysis of such a situation.

“CW2 would be a whole lot of Gov’t officials from the past 20 years (from BOTH parties) winding up having their day at the gallows or guillotine.”

OK, so who’s going to be operating the gallows and the guillotines? Real question. Lamp posts are cheaper, BTW. When the French revolutionaries began their Reign of Terror, they were already a well organized governmental force.

We talk of popular revolt against a rogue regime but how is it to be brought about?

As Lenin famously observed, what is to be done?

The government can’t shut down the airwaves. Amateur radio and CB radio operators would pop up like mushrooms after a rainfall. The older the comms technology, the harder it is to silence it.

Yup. But expect it to try to control that too. They might be able to set up electronics to broadcast noise or jam those signals.

and that the likely outcome of that CW2 would be a whole lot of Gov’t officials from the past 20 years (from BOTH parties) winding up having their day at the gallows or guillotine.

It would make the French Revolution look like a Sunday School picnic. The unpredictable political outcome might be earthshaking.

Hitlery only won 57 counties.
Trump won 3084 counties.

Hitlery won cities.
Trump won everything else...a well armed and angry everything else.

3084 to 57 is pretty good odds.

Guaranteed. There are people in government positions whose sole job is to develop contingency plans for everything conceivable.

"And what great optics that would make if they ever used them against Americans on American soil."

I don't see President Pence using A-10s and USMC rifle companies to unclog a protest in the Holland Tunnel.

And it would be President Pence. In the order of Presidential succession, Hillary is as far down on the list as I am.

Also, in the unlikely event that it ever happened, I wouldn't expect an open CW2 to include a repeat Pickett's Charge on Washington DC. Iraqi civilians are much more poorly equipped and kept the finest military that the world has ever seen busy for years.

The United States has the largest network of energy pipelines in the world, with more than 2.4 million miles of pipe.

There aren't enough USMC rifle companies to guard all 2.4 million miles. The US infrastructure is extremely vulnerable, in the unlikely event that it ever came to that. In 2001, 19 terrorists shut the country down for over a week. Imagine what 1,000,000 (that's 0.3% of the country) motivated patriots could do if they wanted to.

So impeach Trump? Maybe. The Senate convict him? Far less likely, even if they all thought he was guilty as sin. (Clinton's approval numbers went up when he was impeached.)

"Soft Coup"?????

NONSENSE!

It would be a coup d'état!

The Cabal has been working on a coup d'état since before the 2016 election!
