“After serving four months in Ft. Holabird, Md., including much time in the Special Prosecutor’s office, Dean last month returned to his Beverly Hills mountaintop home where he signed with Simon & Schuster a contract which provides him an advance of $325,000 on his book...” (Feb 23, 1975)
I had an entire house built from the barracks of Fort Holabird.
Not that this has anything to do with anything but a serendipitous memory.
I used to work within walking distance of Ft. Holabird but it close shortly after I moved to the area.
Dean never spent a minute in prison. He spent his evenings at the motel-like halfway house and his afternoons in the US Attorneys office working on his book Blind Ambition. Dean would later blame the errors in that book his ghost-writer Taylor Branch.
The Watergate prosecutors never divulged that they found dozens of inconsistencies and falsehoods in Dean’s testimony. Silent Coup and James Rosen The Strong Man rip Dean apart exposing what a total fraud he was and is.
