California Governor Jerry Brown on Friday pledged to launch a satellite that will track and detect the sources of climate pollutants, his state’s latest effort to challenge the Trump administration’s skepticism about the science of climate change.

Brown, who was nicknamed “Governor Moonbeam” during his first stint as governor in the 1970s in part because of a proposal he made at the time to launch an emergency communications satellite for the state, said California was teaming up with earth imaging company Planet Labs to develop the technology.

“We’re going to launch our own satellite. Our own damn satellite to figure out where the pollution is and how we’re going to end it,” Brown told a gathering of political, environmental and business leaders.

I guess Gov. Moonbeam is getting ready to declare war on India and China.

“Isn’t the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse? Isn’t it our responsibility to bring that about?”

So many think this when in reality, preindustrial societies were extremely wasteful with their resources and extremely polluting. It is the reason that some countries used to have no trees. Thoreau said that we are wealthy in proportion to what we can leave alone. The number of parks we have suggests how wealthy we are, how we are conservative suggests how wealthy we are but when we look at third world nations, they must use everything merely to exist. There is no utopia, not here on earth, but these Godless people believe they can create one as they are their own gods.

"You don't have enough time left in office to get it built and launched. "

To Moonbeam and all others of his ilk, Jerry is just pointing out the direction that his selected successor must go. This time thing of which you speak is a Republican construct, and thus can be safely ignored.

Kali is an self-imagined independent country, and until we start enforcing the Constitution, nationwide, there, will continue spewing such nonsense.

Why even bother with a satellite? We already know the results that will come out from the satellite, especially when it will contain the kind of programming that Facebook and Google and Twitter all use to determine what's right or wrong or beneficial to their causes and damaging to their opponents' causes.

Call it the "global warming is real satellite" (GWIRS) and be done with it.

Or....we could increase the standard of living in the third world since poor countries are the major polluters. But Moonbeam wants to bring rich countries down to some low common denominator.

“I am Governor Jerry Brown. My aura smiles and never frowns.”

Face it, folks. The Left hates us. They want us dead.

><

They’d round us up and eliminate us if they could.

If/when they gain control of Congress and the White House....look out!

When one political party starts blaming the other party for bad weather (not to mention secret hand gestures and "dog whistles" that are supposedly signals to a secret popular underground army of bigots) it is probably a good sign the party has no ideas that will help the citizens, but are merely con artists in politics to enrich themselves.

Perhaps in the future the Democrats will try to blame the Republicans for the value of Pi not simply being 3.

This ranks right up there with their billion dollar high speed train. And then they wonder why they don’t have any water to drink sitting next to the ocean.

Their very own satellite! Yippee!

Why not use Google Earth? Surely they can provide the results they need.
