Sen. Collins Criticizes Democrats' Handling of Christine Blasey Ford's Accusations Against Kavanaugh
Townhall ^ | September 17, 2018 | Lauretta Brown

“What is puzzling to me is the Democrats, by not bringing this out earlier, after having had this information for more than six weeks, have managed to cast a cloud of doubt on both the professor and the judge,” Sen. Collins commented.

“If they believed Professor Ford, why didn’t they surface this information earlier so that he could be questioned about it?” she wondered. “And if they didn’t believe her and chose to withhold the information, why did they decide at the 11th hour to release it? It is really not fair to either of them the way it is was handled.”

Sen. Collins told CNN Sunday that she discussed the allegations with Kavanaugh last Friday and he denied them. She said she would discuss the committee proceeding to vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination with her colleagues.

She said she didn’t “know enough to make a judgment at this point," on the veracity of the accusations.

One down, two to go.

The other two will take some courage from Collin's move.

They waited because it will take some time to subject this accusation to proper scrutiny, and once that is done, it will be seen be be false.

What is puzzling is that she is puzzled.

Collins will be a YES vote.

Libs had already pissed her off with bribery attempts and threatening phone calls.

And, Murkowski will swing the way Collins does.

Because they know Ford’s accusations are false and were hoping something else would defeat him during inquisition.

Susan Collins saying doubt has been cast on the judge is as believable as John Wilkes Boothe saying he doesn’t know where Ford’s Theater is.

Hell, a Republican Congressman making robo calls the day before and on election day too, telling Republicans not to vote for Moore.

Probably not. Corker and Flake have signaled they might vote “no” if there aren’t further interminable hearings. They aren’t up for re-election so there’s no consequence for their voting no.

This way, Collins gets cover to vote for Kavanaugh because she knows her RINO brethren will take the heat come November.

“there’s no consequence for their voting no.”

I know its “politics” but that is pathetic. Obviouly, a good thing they are out.

Yes, they are two two-faced traitors to their party.

I’m afraid Kavanaugh will withdraw. I can’t say I blame him, but I’m praying he stays in and fights. These kinds of tactics cannot be allowed to stand.

No, no and NO! Kavanaugh had better not withdraw. If he does, Trump will not be able to get ANY SCOTUS nomination through, as the Dems lying accusations will come out against EVERY person Trump picks!

As bad as that is, it gets even worse.

ANY conservative, in any position, can be successfully targeted for ouster if these unsubstantiated, obviously politically-motivated “charges” stand.

Kavanaugh’s nomination is the last stand of freedom against these Star Chamber tactics of the Deep State. He has to see this through for all our sakes.

If we can get the two other ladies, CornFlakes and Cornhole out of the CNN spotlight it would help.
