Interestingly, Joe Biden — who was the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee at the time — was adamant that he would not allow any information from Anita Hill to be entered into the committee’s records on the nomination if she remained anonymous. That would have been a big no-no in anything remotely resembling a legal procedure.
Yes, I agree with that.
I’m not a big fan of people being able to come up with charges, when they won’t do it in public.
When a person is charged, they should be able to know who it was and respond with information they may know, or that others can dig up.
If it relates to the accuser’s character, it should be heard.
I’m not trying to say that a hooker for instance could never claim rape. I’m not trying to deny a woman her right to charge a guy. I just think a guy needs to be able to defend himself too.
These are messy situations. It’s hard to protect everyone’s rights.
