Kavanaugh to Give Senate Calendars From 1982 to Back Up Denial
The New York Times ^ | September 23, 2018 | Pete Baker

WASHINGTON — Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh has calendars from the summer of 1982 that he plans to hand over to the Senate Judiciary Committee that do not show a party consistent with the description of his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, according to someone working for his confirmation.

The calendars do not disprove Dr. Blasey’s allegations, Judge Kavanaugh’s team acknowledged. He could have attended a party that he did not list. But his team will argue to the senators that the calendars provide no corroboration for her account of a small gathering at a house where he allegedly pinned her to a bed and tried to remove her clothing.

The calendars show, according to the person working for his confirmation, that he was out of town much of the summer at the beach or away with his parents. When he was at home, the calendars list his basketball games, movie outings, football workouts and college interviews. A few parties are mentioned but include names of friends other than those identified by Dr. Blasey.

Sure, it’s interesting, and might point to his lifestyle then, or might not. Why would you write down how drunk you were, which house you showed up at (4 kids getting together is not necessarily a party), whom you rubbed up against? It’s not his “Dear Diary, Guess what happened tonight?”

I had calendars for those years too, but I kept them maybe a decade and then got rid of them.

All my yearbooks had were a bunch of people signing them with, “Have a Kick-Ass Summer.”

Who knows what else he has to back him up.

This.

If he’s giving up that he has these, I’m sure his team is thus letting them know he may have other things.

Calendars are very slim. I likely still have some from that period. They’re memories of one’s life narrative, useful for some people to recall details - just as its serving Kavanaugh well now.

I’m so tired of slutgate! I want it over. Judge Kavanaugh is the best amongst us. This should have been over last Thursday. Anybody who opposes this nomination is either stupid, evil, or demonic.... or all three!

Also, she was wearing a bathing suit so it has to be summer.

Unless she lost all her underwear somewhere.

*Looks at calendar*
"On weekend fishing trip with parents in Minnesota*
"Well... Brett Kavanaugh could have just snuck away!"

I see now why Ford is so adamant about not providing any specifics on the date, location or anything. Because when she does (such as names of people), it always seems to blow up in her face.

Who in the world has their HIGH SCHOOL calendars?

All three of my kids. Actually, they don't still have them. They are in boxes in our attic along with all their notebooks they will never look at again. Pretty soon, recycle time.

Maybe we should keep them in case they run into some leftists.

This is just calendars. Most likely there are journals and if he was on some long trip for most of the summer, he has pictures. This was just a way of saying, there is more.

So funny to read them today! Phone numbers (without area codes), let’s party this summer! My friend and I actually looked at one old yearbook a week ago and we thought, what if we called now, 30 yrs later, and asked if we could still get together and party! Sorry I never called before.... lol. (Obviously those were not cell numbers, probably parents phones) Just a funny thought.

Ford is a self-admitted “punchboard.”

Can you show us where she said or wrote that?

It also shows he didn’t pass his high school days passed out flat on his back drunk like the Dems are trying to portray him.

Thank you. All the “He has to prove he is innocent” talk drives me insane! The burden is on the prosecution to prove the accused did the crime — “Innocent until PROVEN GUILTY.” They are constantly striving to turn centuries of jurisprudence on its head. They also demanded that the accused testify first so he cannot refute the accuser.

Yes, I know it is not a criminal trial, but the same principles hold.

i bet his parents kept them

You would be amazed at what my mom kept of my stuff.

I'm not surprised, especially if the "calendar" was more like a planner/journal with notes of things he did. I could see those going into a box at the end of the year, and eventually into an attic.

This would be especially likely if the son seemed like he would become somebody notable, which was apparent at an early age. I could see his proud parents keeping things that might be useful if anybody was going to write a biography about him in the future.

“Who in the world has their HIGH SCHOOL calendars?”

I kept mine for 40 years. Finally let them go last time we moved. I was not a nerd really, but more a sentimental packrat. Calendars, test papers/grades from kindergarten on, newspaper clippings, even still have the pencil I used in 1st grade lol.

First two lines from a Randy Travis song:

“Operator, please connect me with 1982

I need to make apologies for what I didn’t do”

LOL, I used to use those pocket calendars that were leather and you could stick them in your back pocket...I had about ten years of them beginning in 1985 and just threw them out earlier this year!

I lived on those things for a while.

She'll NEVER testify. Bet her brothers, both lawyers, are laughing their a**** off watching her bury herself.

That's one of the reasons I believe she's lying....her brothers aren't coming to her defense. Bet she hit on all their buddies.
