This shouldn't have been released until the hearing.

It would have been a real bombshell (not the kind we keep reading in online headlines).

Ford would have been publicly humiliated and destroyed.

Now, Democrats and Team Ford have the opportunity to create a counter narrative.

The element of surprise is gone.

This could have been a 'A Few Good Men' moment.

Actually its PERFECT..because now, Ford’s lawyers will have to change the date of the BS attack, and they will have to wonder, does Kavanaugh have more calendars from other years..you can bet your bottom dollar he does!

It's a gamble.

Either wait until the hearing, where 10 Democrat Senators will have free rein to pontificate and slander, or put this out now in the hopes of scaring Ford into backing down and canceling.

Either way, the calendars defend him. The question is whether Feinstein's camp pushes Ford into appearing anyway, just so the Democrat Senators can get their camera time.

Sure, it’s interesting, and might point to his lifestyle then, or might not. Why would you write down how drunk you were, which house you showed up at (4 kids getting together is not necessarily a party), whom you rubbed up against? It’s not his “Dear Diary, Guess what happened tonight?”

I had calendars for those years too, but I kept them maybe a decade and then got rid of them.

She has been steadfast that she was 15 at the time. Also, she was wearing a bathing suit so it has to be summer. So she’s pretty well locked into summer of ‘82 unless she wants to change her story yet again. - randita
I agree that I certainly would have held that back, and demanded a specific date. Nothing wrong with warning that you do have documentation for quite a few dates, tho - to intimidate Ford into folding instead of rolling the dice.

The swimsuit is quite a problem with the story, tho - now that she knows that he has an alibi for a lot of the summer.

Quite the contrast, between a vague timeframe of a year or so, on the one hand, and a marked-up calendar for that year, on the other.

No... Disagree. I want her to not show up. To come up with more excuses and demands and be a no show...

If, as someone suggested earlier, this news tidbit was released by Kavanaugh’s legal team, it may have been done as a signal to her that the game is up, her hoax is exposed, and she might want to be thinking about an exit strategy.
