Democrats Really Could Lose That New Jersey Senate Seat

New Jersey’s race pits Democratic incumbent Sen. Bob Menendez against Republican Bob Hugin. The “classic” version of our model gives Menendez about an 8 in 9 chance of winning the race — not bad, you might say! And then you’d look at the recent polls and maybe not say that quite as loudly. A Fairleigh Dickinson University poll out Wednesday shows Menendez leading 43 percent to 37 percent among likely voters, within the margin of error. Two other recent surveys — one by Vox Populi Communications and one by Stockton University — also showed the race within the low single digits.

FiveThirtyEight is a pro-Democrat pollster/statistical analysis news site run by Nate Silver, the famous guy who predicted Obama's and Hillary Clinton's Presidential victories.

Why post this? It's surprisingly neutral and positive about Republican Hugin's chances and what that means countrywide.

An incumbent at 43% is not likely to win in most states, but in New Jersey the odds are less positive. Still it would be a wonderful gift to the Senate.

Shhh! If Menendez is losing the NJ Supreme Court will switch the candidates, even though it’s illegal.

Those 538 idiots have gotten it so wrong they are now qualifying everything so they can say they weren’t total loons again.

Well, we’re working hard here in New Jersey and Bob Hugin is a very talented, smart and hardworking candidate who is going all in.

New Jersey isn’t a lost cause. There’s a chance to take out a major corrupt Rat in Menendez. People absolutely detest him and want him gone.

Hugin for US Senate in NJ!

The fact that New Jersey is even in play says that the blue wave was total BS

Spot on! I read another article by them tonight and it was completely mealy-mouthed with no value. This article is pretty definitive by comparison.

Well, we’re working hard here in New Jersey and Bob Hugin is a very talented, smart and hardworking candidate who is going all in.

Thank you for all your work!

The times I was in NJ I thought of it as similar to Ohio, a purple state, but also like Illinois: largely conservative with a big city that is a Democratic dominating the state.

Ugh! I just found this is a duplicate article. Here’s the original one. http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3693337/posts

Admin, I’m a little rusty on posting. I forgot to search first.

No no, oh no. Not happening. See, Higon worked for a PHARMA COMPANY!!! Oh the horror!!! Sure Menendez May have broken the law but it is a trivial offense compared to Hugin’s. At least, that is the local population here in New Jersey is saying.

Add to that, they will manufacture as many votes out of Hudson County as are needed. Bank on it.

New Jersey, the only place where Smokey the Bear says “ go ahead and leave that camp fire unattended “.

You might see some close races and I think you’ll see about 12 seats flipping to the R...I think the Kavanaugh witch-hunt is going to get Republicans to vote against D, and I think you might see a close race between a potted plant (Chris Murphy) and Matt Corey, especially if Bob Stefanowski beat Ned ‘Lets make Dan Malloy look Conservative’ LaMont for the governor of Connecticut.

How soon is Booker up for reelection? You need to push him into the dust bin.
