I used to work with abused women, and this sounds familiar. Husbands would spend years of verbally, mentally, and physically abusing their wives. Horrible things. Wives finally have had enough so either stand up to their husbands, ot leave them. Husbands spread the word that wives are “crazy”. (Yeah; they are. You made them that way.)
