I dunno.
I don’t like seeing our side turn into snowflakes, too.
I hate sticking up for a leftist, but the guy OBVIOUSLY meant his comment as a sarcastic reference to the Kavanaugh situation and did not seriously mean he was going to throw the woman to the ground and rape her. He recognized this and apologized, and that should have been that.
I think it was likewise obvious that the interviewer was holding leftists accountable to their own standards. The animating mantra is believe all women and she was simply demanding the treatment the leftists require. I think her anger was feigned and meant to reveal the shallowness of the she too movement.
I agree.. Let’s not be like the Left.
Agreed. No escalation necessary.
He apologized because he realized he was recorded. Cmon.
“I hate sticking up for a leftist, but the guy OBVIOUSLY meant his comment as a sarcastic reference to the Kavanaugh situation and did not seriously mean he was going to throw the woman to the ground and rape her. He recognized this and apologized, and that should have been that.”
Agreed. He was trying to make a point but did it poorly.
I applaud your sense of fairness, and I don't want to demonize that man. However, I think we need to remember what the left tried to do to now Justice Kavanaugh, to Justice Thomas before him, and many others who they were willing to viciously smear in order to get their own way. They are, and have been more than willing to destroy people's lives, and they have zero respect for our rights as citizens and voters. I applaud this young woman for pointing out their absolute hypocrisy.
Even so, the reaction of the women in the crowd is unbelievable.
I don't either. That's why the gal should have just said "Lay your hand on me again and you'll draw back a stump. Or be singing soprano for the rest of your life."
I sort of agree and the guy is older than I am and he’s fat and need an O2 tank to breathe. He was being sarcastic and she was making the most of it. Bigger things to worry about.
Why? Do you believe they would? Of course not. Plus, for a woman, that is a direct threat...why should she assume he wasn’t serious? It’s not about being a snowflake...it’s about fighting back and using their own words and actions against them. Not confronting this only empowers them. They are an uncivilized mob, we shouldn’t dignify such behavior by excusing it.
Cmon Hillary, youve been unmasked again and again for trying to infiltrate Free Republic.
Freepers respect all women including half-crazed bomb throwers with pink vagina hats who look like Trigglypuff or you.
We dont make excuses for men who threaten women half their size with assault and rape.
Go back under your rock.
“He recognized this and apologized, and that should have been that.”
NEVER apologize!
Look, the old guy is on oxygen, he couldn’t rape anyone.
It was a sarcastic comment. He could have phrased it better, like “Now with Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court” blah, blah, blah...
It was ALL theatre, on both sides. Nothing there to get exercised over.
Not “camera caught”, but “camera caused” non-incident.
DRAMA..............
It is obvious that the old guy had neither the intention nor the required blood oxygen level to rape her.
That said, his hypothetical was offensive and the female reporter was right to simply complain about it.
