Looks like he’s playing a bit of chicken with Trump now. Trump has the leverage of releasing all the documents that will prove him innocent of all of this garbage, but Mueller says he’ll give determination AFTER the election.. meaning he will likely try to claim obstruction if Trump releases it before.
End goal for the Democrats here is to hamper Trump and the GOP in the Mid-terms and prevent him from dropping the bomb shell on the Democrats before this election.
How will it be obstruction if Trump releases the information before the election? The unredacted documents stand by themselves. They will show that the entire Russian collusion narrative was manufactured. The Mueller investigation is built on lies. There was no crime to justify the appointment of a Special Counsel. The original FBI investigation of Trump was a counterintelligence investigation.
The real question is why hasn’t President Trump released the unredacted documents now? Why did he involve the DOJ IG in the process? I see no downside in releasing the documents before the midterms.
I can only speculate that Rosenstein has given Trump some assurances that the Mueller report will exonerate him and that releasing the documents before the report is released will make it appear that Trump influenced Mueller to produce a report favorable to Trump.
