Christ paid the price for everyman (1 Timothy 2:4,5). BUT, unless one believes that Jesus Christ is "he" (the Messiah), that man will die in his sins (John 8:24ff). He will be judged by God according to his works. Since only God is good, all will fall short and earn their place in the lake of fire (Revelation 20:14,15).
And Who set up those laws and enforces them, Mr Hawking?

It matters because a lot of “young skulls filled with mush” will believe Hawking and just might spend a good portion of their lives stumbling through life before realizing that Hawking was clueless about God.

I have no idea, nor do you....God alone judges what is sin and what is not....Remember He is ALL merciful while at the same time being all righteous. I can't see a merciful God condemning us to an eternity in Hell for s slip of the tongue.
Maybe you should read James 2:10 to familiarize yourself as to how many sins it takes. He PLAINLY tells you. Haven’t you ever read it?

Yes, I am certain that there is a God and a world of His that is less fake and fictitious than our own. Just as there is a science which can explain the nonsensical behaviors of women, there is a science that can explain our fictional world, imo. Science can be applied selectively, just as morality can be applied hypocritically, and science can explain this or that virtual world, but it cannot determines which is real vs which is fiction. A meta-science notwithstanding, once we are in a paradigm shift, we can only see within this paradigm and not remember or imagine the previous one. Salvation is the ability to somehow gain the sight via round about ways having to do with truth vs lies, history vs revisionism, Justice vs. injustice etc... a very intuitive process
Hopefully, a lot....ever drive over the speed limit?, ever think a bad thought about another?, ever miss Mass on Sunday, ever lose patience with your wife or children?, etc etc
