Donald Trump rally scheduled for NRG Arena has been moved to the Toyota Center (Houston)

Originally scheduled to be held at the NRG Arena on the NRG Park grounds, President Donald J. Trump's planned Oct. 22 rally for Senator Ted Cruz has been moved to the larger Toyota Center in downtown Houston.

Trump had taken some heat from critics for previously promising that the event would be held at the "biggest stadium in Texas we can find" and instead settled for a smallish arena with a capacity of 8,000.

The Toyota Center, first opened in October 2003, has a listed capacity of up to 19,000 for concerts and 18,300 for basketball.

One of President Trump's campaign managers, Brad Parscale, announced the change just before noon on Thursday, citing "unprecedented" demand. The campaign's official website also reflected the change.

President Trump's special campaign event has been scheduled to help Senator Ted Cruz in the final days before he and Congressman Beto O'Rourke meet at the polls on Election Day.

Those who want to attend the Trump rally should register for entry on the official Trump campaign site....

Keep him in your prayers. Houston is a “Sanctuary City”.

They don't seem to get that too big raises security/control concerns....of course with a LOT of Trump lovers, I would hate to be a leftist problem child trying to cause harm to him.....

The bigger the arena the tougher it is for the Secret Service to secure the facility on such short notice.

They announce the move and the SS has less than a week to respond, and remember Trump is in AZ tonight and somewhere else tomorrow and the SS guys gotta sleep.

I know that they hate these quick turn around events.

I love these rallies but I really am concerned about the crazies that are roaming around.

Pray for our President.

Houston is the Chicago of the south.

Sadly I unfortunately tend to agree more and more with that assessment. I live in the far distant suburbs north of the city and county now and I absolutely avoid going into the city limits as much as is possible any more. It is looking dirtier all the time and more slummish by he day. That saddens me. It is run by a bunch of Detroit styled Dimocrats bent of turning it into another has been city in many respects. In many areas it already looks like little Mexico.

Whatever happened to the Bill and Hillary ‘tour?’ It's going to get expensive if they have to pay for Trump-sized audiences. Did you see the yuge revival in Missoula last evening? Here is a short snippet from the performance. No one can match his direct give and take “conversations” with his throngs.

Did you read Salena Zito’s recent column about interviewing the president backstage at a rally? He invited her to walk to the stage with him, and she described the security she saw there. He’s very well protected.

I worry about his safety at these rallies. It only takes one lunatic and Houston has thousands.

The last several times I drove in Houston along the 59 corridor there were many areas in need of cleaning and refuse pickups. Go anywhere near the near East side put your blinders on. Many areas in the near North side as well.

THE VERY LATEST ON BETO (TEE-HEE)

Even though he is quite white, libs say Beto has the same kind of boyish, Irish charm of the Kennedys they crave.

So Beto is trying to live up to the Kennedy expectations-—

<><> He got up a game of touch football with his cousins.

<><> He told Texas ranchers he lives in a “compound,” and his wife’s name is Jackie.

<><> Says he loves sailing the ocean in landlocked Texas.

<><> When Beto goes into a Texas steakhouse, he orders broiled Maine lobster and Boston Clam Chowdah.
