Academy Award-winning documentary filmmaker Michael Moore asked for the “angry white men” of America to “just take a break” in an interview on Thursday.
During an appearance on "Late Night with Seth Meyers," Moore said that he, being an “angry white guy over 50 with a high school education,” is part of President Trump's targeted demographic.
But he said he and his “fellow angry white American guys” have been “running the show for 10,000 years," and it's time to give someone else a chance.
“It’s like, we’ve had a long run as men running everything and the Yankees could never win as many pennants as we’ve won in these 10,000 years as men,” Moore said.
“So, why don’t we just take a break? Let the majority gender run the show. What are you scared of?” he continued. “Women actually like us, most of us.”
The “Fahrenheit 11/9” director also said that he hopes “the majority” of voters haven’t fallen for the fear he believes Trump is trying to “whip up” to stimulate his base ahead of midterm elections on Tuesday.
“Trump is in there trying to whip up, as you were showing earlier,” Moore said to Meyers, all “that fear and all that ‘Here come the hordes,’ and doing this and that...”
“Hopefully, people have not fallen for it, not the majority. The majority are with us,” Moore added. “The majority believe in the liberal agenda.”
Moore has been a fierce critic of Trump throughout his presidency, and in June urged Trump’s opponents “rise up” and put their “bodies on the line” to stop his policies.
His remarks on Thursday come several days after CNN host Don Lemon captured headlines for saying that the "biggest terror threat in this country are white men" in response to the deadly synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh.
I found out a guy I know is a self-loathing Trump hater. I had always thought he seemed smarter than that. He spouted the Dim party line that white males have F’d everything up - we should let women try!
I guess he was hoping for some kudos or something. Pathetic.

Well, I am not a white man. I’m a mixed race woman who lives in a college town where I go to school. What I am afraid of is the Obama economy. I want a job when I get out of college. I have loans to pay.

We have a ton of immigrants around here, and dear friends among them. Moore’s experience with illegal immigrants must be very different from the experience we have around here...
I don’t like people shooting up my town, or being loud all night while I am trying to study. I don’t care who “Maria” is who some drunk fool screams at the neighborhood about at 2:00 AM. I want to study. I want to be a contributing member of society. If they care about foreign born students, I have some good friends from far flung place on the globe who feel the same as I do, here on the ground, that is far removed from Michael Moore’s neighborhood.
He says the same thing people say to me and others here on subjects they disagree with me about.

I’m afraid I don’t understand MM’s question. The left says today that a woman can be a man and vice-versa simply by choice. So why the ramp up on a difference between the sexes? Err, the birth genders... No that’s not right.. umm... Is this thing even on?
I’M not afraid for myself. I’m afraid that my sons are going to grow up in what used to be a free country but now they are looked at as the enemy by the likes of Moore, muslims, women, homosexuals, and whatever other nutcase liberal there is.
