Conservatives in Massachusetts would like to be able to say theyll win up and down the ballot, but thats not realistic in a state where nearly 61 percent voted for Hillary Clinton for president two years ago.
Instead, conservatives will be looking for sporadic and incremental victories tonight or theyll go back to the drawing board.
Here below is a conservatives guide to 12 key races in Massachusetts on Election Day, Tuesday, November 6, 2018:
Ballot Questions
Question 1 Limiting the Number of Patients Nurses Can See in a Hospital
This ballot question is a classic case study in liberalism: See a problem in the economy and come up with a top-heavy government solution.
Many hospital nurses are overworked; you can see that if you visit a patient. But should government be setting the rules? And will the cure be much worse than the disease, if costs skyrocket and community hospitals go out of business?
The conservative vote here is clear: No.
Public polls have shown volatility, probably stemming at least in part from voters wanting to help nurses, who are generally popular. Millions of dollars have been spent by both sides.
If Yes wins on Question 1, expect a bad night for conservatives in Massachusetts, because it suggests a majority of voters are leaning lefter than usual.
If No wins, it suggests a majority of Massachusetts voters may be in an analytical mood, giving conservatives a better shot at some victories elsewhere.

Democrats will continue to control the statehouse and House delegation and the two Senate seats.
Only bright spot is re-election of RINO Charlie Baker.
Why would any election in MA mean anything to conservatives ?
“If Yes wins on Question 1, expect a bad night for conservatives in Massachusetts”
That’s overthinking it a bit. Nurses are more popular than the military and law enforcement. I can see a voter trying to support nurses and use that as their conscience vote of the day. Of course they don’t tell you that an RN in MA. is probably making $100,000 a year.
“Why would any election in MA mean anything to conservatives ?”
Control of the House?
My neighbor, an RN, makes $120,000 a year at Mass General.
Charlie Faker is not a bright spot. He is a nevertrump. Also, Warren has no unions or police voting for her. It will be close as even democrats do not like her!
“My neighbor, an RN, makes $120,000 a year at Mass General.”
Yup...right up there with tenured school teachers.
Also:
“Keating is 66. He already qualifies for a healthy state pension and with now seven-plus years of service in Congress has vested in a federal pension. Whenever Keating retires, will Republicans have a shot at this seat?”
This guy is looking at $250,000 a year in public pensions. Now you know why they lie and cheat so hard to win elections.
Democrats vote for RINOs when Democrats get so corrupt they need to be checked.
Could happen tonight in CT.
I left that vote blank as I didn't want to vote for a Trump hater and a Rino, like Baker, and also didn't want to vote for the DEM either.
Amazingly , Elizabeth Warren hasn't done much campaigning, and I gave Diehl(R) a vote against her, but I know how futile that is in this State. - Tom
The government pensions here in Mass & the northeast, in general, are absurd.
I have family members who have worked for the state & they have made a small fortune between their pay & pensions.
I appreciate the effort, but what?
Many people are voting just to vote for Diehl.
Baker is a nightmare....the ONLY reason I voted for him this morning was his stance against making Massachusetts a sanctuary state.
I am pretty sure Baker is voting Waren. He would not endorse Diehl. Baker is scum.
I’m not sure how true it is but I read that New England states might have Republican governors tonight... I think CT voters are ready to #RebuildCT...(and I was at the CT Republican website and I think they’ll surprise tonight.)
LaPage GOP is term-limited in Maine, but it looks like a GOP will replace him. Sununu in NH is GOP & should be reelected. Baker, GOP in MASs will be reelected. Vermont will reelect their GOP governor & Conn might go GOP.
Baker is a 90% fraud, but I made my peace with it over the illegal situation.
