Long days, morning show, nightly Fox show. Maybe fewer affiliates than before. She can still reach a lot of people via podcast.
Michael Savage is moving to only 1 hr per day on radio, and a 2 hr podcast.Ben Shapiro will do the other 2 hours and a podcast.
Some talk hosts retiring because of age and a shrinking talk radio market (Imus, etc). Cumulus and iHeart declared bankruptcy. A few talk hosts passed away—on the left, Alan Colmes and Ed Schultz; on the right, Jerry Doyle.
Streaming can lead listeners to some good shows, like Howie Carr, afternoons.
Progressive talk really went away (mostly).Soon the few stations left switched to sports, oldies, etc because there weren’t enough syndicated hosts for liberal talk to fill a lineup (plus bad ratings).So prog talk fans listen to podcasts or streaming of Stephanie Miller and Norman Goldman.
My first thought is that she probably wants to spend much more time with her three young kids. I'm sure she's doing very well financially with her FNC show, which is only one hour per night, as opposed to three hours each morning. (I realize there's a lot of advance prep time for both shows)
I'd like to give her podcast a try, although I admit I have no idea how that works. Do you go to iTunes to get each show?
Some other comments on this thread have me worried. I *really* hope AM radio conservative talk shows aren't dying...
