The recount in Florida has put the states election machinery to the test, and it has failed miserably: Almost 3,000 votes have vanished, the New York Times reported, while Florida recounts three state and three local elections that have yet to be called.
The Florida secretary of state reported 900 fewer votes than were tallied originally, and that number is expected to balloon by 2,000 more votes when results from Broward County are reported. Although this number of votes would not necessarily swing the election from one candidate to another, its certainly enough to cause concern.
For example, Palm Beach SOE -Bucher said there may be boxes of uncounted ballots and dozens of precincts missing a significant number of votes in the recount. Bucher said this is due to a ballot-scanning machine that has become overworked and overheated.
Hillsborough and Miami-Dade County were also missing around 850 votes and 500 votes, respectively. Florida officials are claiming this is typical of a recount, but experts disagree.
It is expected that as each set of results are due, the numbers will fluctuate some, Sarah W. Revell, a spokesperson for the Florida secretary of state told the Times. It is not indicative of a problem.
E. John Sebes, founder of the non-profit Open Source Election Technology countered, telling the Times, This is a big deal. If you have an election margin of 0.21 percent and a variance of 0.12 percent, the variance of your machine count is half the margin you are trying to correct. Thats kooky.
The Senate race in Florida between Bill Nelson and Governor Rick Scott, will get a hand ... This will be the first statewide hand recount in Floridas history. But while Nelson may gain a few votes, he is not expected to take the lead.

While they have been unable to hijack the Florida Governor's mansion or steal Florida's critical Republican Senatorial vote, they may have been successful in their pledge to erode Floridian's 2nd Amendment rights if Agricultural Commissioner, Matt Caldwell does not win this final vote count.
If that is the final outcome, the Republican led and dominated Florida legislature should refuse to seat Caldwell's opponent, Nikki Fried, until a forensic audit has been completed.
Wanna bet they’re all Republican votes?
Update the number of admitted ‘lost votes’ is now 2,940,
Note that the FL GOP had to initially sue the SOE’s of Hillsborough, Palm Beach and Broward to get Republican observers in the election rooms, Not sure if Miami SOE had allowed access.
Republican votes are lost...
Democrat votes are found...
It’s a freakin’ miracle!
Guess we will see what kind of governor DeSantis will be after he takes office.I hope he plans to go after this crooked mess.
Republicans control the whole state — why don’t they push for reform of this broken system?
Bingo! we have a Winner! That is certainly part of the crime.
I’ll bet the officials in charge figured that it was better to “loose” a few ballots than to have them around to be proof of fraud.
Why, that would be racist!
Since Trump must win Florida to get re-elected I would think he would put the squeeze to DeSantis and tell him to get it cleaned up.
Any construction going on in the building? I’d start suspecting that the missing votes are in recent poured concrete or inside a wall just sheet-rocked.
DeSantis was a federal prosecutor for a time. Let's hope he puts that experience to work for Florida.
Funny when I searched for titles regarding thousands of missing ballots, this article on Snipe’s unlawful destruction of ballots subject to a court order pops up:
If they do find them, they will all be Democrat votes.
It is not a broken system, you miss the point.
Florida has some of the toughest election laws in the country. However, all voting prior to Election Day is ripe for fraud.
Broward County is under the helm of corrupt democrat party hacks. They are intentionally orchestrating ways to cheat and steal elections.
The problem is not with the “Florida” election system.
There are 67 counties in Florida. The problems are concentrated in three Democrat-controlled: Dade, Broward and Palm Beach. This article also mentions a small problem in Hillsborough County, which is Democrat-controlled Tampa.
63 counties in Florida have essentially zero problems. That is because they are staffed with honest citizen volunteers. While most of those honest cizens have strong partisan views, they know that when they put on their ‘election official’ hat, they know that their responsibility o ensure that every legal vote is recorded, counted and reported in a timely manner.
The officials in Democrat-controlled counties have a very different intent. They view it as their job to use their control of the electoral process to help their party in any way possible. To the extent that the problems are due to incompetennce or outdated equipment, they are problems that are deliberately left unaddressed for years/decades because they allow close elections to be manipulated through chaoas, confusion, court-orders and fraud.
The system worked fine for 65 other counties....
Florida has a good voting process that works...
Any system no matter how good when run by criminals will be compromised...
Give the criminals long hard prison terms such as ten years minimal will stop this nonsense.
Then a public flogging just for good measure.
“Wanna bet theyre all Republican votes?”
Or maybe now that it is apparent there were not enough illegal D votes to swing the election, the obvious fraudulent ballots were removed to cover up how things are done and to avoid legal jeopardy, should there be a real effort to investigate and prosecute.
Yes, the involved election workers are destroying the crime scene by removing the evidence. It is the exact same thing they did in 2016 to ensure DWS won her congressional seat.
Snipes was under a court order to preserve the ballots for inspection. She claimed it would cost the SOE $75,000 to produce the ballots, the price was negotiated down to 3K. Then Snipes secretly had all the ballots shredded!!!!
Bingo!
