'Morning Joe' Professor Explains Away Hyde-Smith Win: Voters Don't Know 'Their Interests'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 11/28/2018 8:11:09 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

After all the MSM hype about the Mississippi Senate run-off, liberals are faced with the troublesome task this morning of explaining away Cindy Hyde-Smith's comfortable victory.

[snip]

Glaude described Hyde-Smith as "the last breath of the inheritors of the plantation class." He then condescendingly accused poor Mississippians of being too benighted to realize what was good for them:

"Given the demographics of the state, if poor people, poor people in Mississippi, acted in their interests, they are the majority. They are the majority . . . If poor people are acting in their interest, then they can change."

Another condescending liberal who thinks people who vote Republican are too dumb to know what’s good for them.

Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.

Hmmmm. Wonder if the same could be applied here in Calvada after the dems took just about everything last (s)election. No? That’s odd.

Please send your absentee ballot to: US House of Representatives, Attention: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

She’ll take care of it for you.

Funny how libs (most often with degrees in advanced underwater lesbian nothingness, journalism, or law) think they know about what’s good for us more than we do.

And naturally, none of them have ever done anything useful or productive.

Which, of course, is why they’re into the “work” that they do now. Uselessness begets increased uselessness.

I really don’t know how they get their messaging out so quickly. It’s like magic! Last night, as the results were coming in, I saw the posts from leftists beginning in social media. All at once, the messaging was, “These poor people down there have been voting against their own interests for generations…”

It’s complete nonsense, but somehow the NPCs all begin spouting the same phrases at the same time. It’s like the NPC brains are all quantumly entangled and know the direction of their spin instantaneously across spooky distances.

Where do the Democrats dig up smelly candidates like Espy? The same place they
dig up their “provisional voters,” I guess. Espy is as crooked as a three-dollar bill.

<><> he’s a Clinton retread (yuck).
<><> he’s an unrestrained globalist —— a $750K lobbyist for a Third World tinpot now on trial for rape muder and mayhem.
<><> Espy was once indicted for receiving improper gifts, including sports tickets, lodging, and airfare.
<><> Espy cannily refused to plea bargain and was later acquitted of 30 criminal counts.
<><> Sun-Diamond Growers was fined $1.5 million for giving Espy $6,000 in gifts; reversed at the Court of Appeals level.
<><> Espy’s Chief of Staff, Ronald Blackley, was convicted on three counts of making false statements and sentenced to 27 months in prison.
<><> a Tyson Foods Foundation gave a $1,200 scholarship to Espy’s then-girlfriend. Espy was forced to admit that they deceived the Clinton White House, which at first accepted Espy’s false statements. That forced Espy to resign as Clinton’s Secretary of Agriculture.
<><> Tyson Foods Inc., Clinton facilitator, plead guilty to felony charges of giving Espy gifts. (hat tip WIKI)

He then condescendingly accused poor Mississippians of being too benighted to realize what was good for them:

Typical Progressive.

This is a core Progressive belief and value.

Their argument, such as it is, goes like this:

Ordinary people are much too stupid to make their own decisions.

The government must make the decisions for these stupid people.

Smart people should be in charge of the government.

I am smart.

Therefore, I should be in charge of the government.

Everyone votes in their best interest. That’s what we expect from our representatives. You either represent our interests or we will find someone who will do what he promises. Don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know that.

I was raised in Mississippi.

I was the poorest of the poor in Mississippi.

I lived in poverty.

I did not like poverty.

So I left poverty.................

“Voting against their own interests” is a well used rationalization when they don’t understand why someone would vote against them.

Is this supposed to be news? The Democratic party is BASED on the principle that everyone needs rich elitists to tell them what to think and to run every single aspect of their lives for them.
