I'm just the messenger... But there is a science behind our current temps. The Ferrel cell has become less elongated, shorter on the surface, and more round. This pulls more warm air from the equator and Hadley cell to a higher latitude, ie San Diego. Same here in Southern Az. The warmer we are the more heat that is being drawn from the meeting zone of the arctic cell and the Ferrel cell making it even colder in the northern latitudes. One latitude cannot dictate another.
