Producing farmland even for free is very expensive to produce. For me in Wisconsin it was $3,800 per acre in cost. Seed, fertilizer, chemicals, pre harvest prep, harvest, machinery, depreciation, fuel, insurance, and taxes.

They will leave the whirlwind, and a bunch of starving people in a declining nation behind, wondering why the crops just don’t grow up out of the earth.
