Correctamundo!
Promoting “Democracy” should be a Capitial crime.

"We are an unserious nation, engaged in trivial pursuits, in a deadly serious world."
Pat never wrote a truer sentence. It is deeply shocking what "we the people" are allowing our so-called elites to do to President Trump, his family and those who supported him.
That we elected to the presidency an unknown with the middle name of Hussein and a personal history of a Muslim education just 7 short years after Sept. 11, 2001 was bad enough. That we reelected him, and just recently installed a Socialist House of Representatives says we are in decline. If we allow the baying Socialist hounds to topple Trump, we are done as a nation even if the husk continues on for awhile.
That pretty much sums it up, doesn’t it?

You are so right.
And as Pat says, " We are an unserious nation, engaged in trivial pursuits, in a deadly serious world."
To this seventy-two year old guy, these are very tormenting times.
There were like 50,000 sealed indictments in the Justice system. They are working their way up the ladder. It sounds like many politicians were already questioned. A bunch of politicians all of a sudden gave up their jobs.
I am still optimistic.
“We are an unserious nation, engaged in trivial pursuits, in a deadly serious world.” Pat gets it!
We are the new Brazil....in many respects. De Gaulle said that “Brazil was not a serious nation” Brazil is always the country of the future...we are fast becoming the country of the past.
Tragic.
Buchanan hits the bullseye with this piece.
Calls out the trashy, lying, snakish democrats whose sentiment is rule or ruin.
Democracy is an inherently unstable form of government that is prone to failure eventually.
I am on my own side, not President Trump’s. I do not believe that he has committed even 1% of the transgressions that his adversaries assert; and I have no problem with him playing hardball. There are many things I like personally about him, and I believe that he truly has our country’s and our world’s best interests at heart. But he also too often sullies the discourse (e.g., horse face) that come with high costs and few discernible benefits — even for himself.
I don’t think my view on this differs much from many other folks on this site, and to repeat I am behind him on most and perhaps nearly all issues. Perhaps I just have a lower threshold for nonsense; though I prefer to think that I am simply less patient with foolishness that distracts from the great issues confronting our country. I wish he would not expend precious political capital on trivial matters that he should consider beneath him.
Like Grants reputation for being a notorious drunkard yet in 8 years in the White House there is not ONE first hand account of him ever having taken a single drink there. I suspect as much of Trumps womanizing. A greatly exaggerated story to demean him. I would bet I have had sex with more women not my wife and I am far from a billionaire. Meanwhile REAL perverts like Epstein get a wrist tap because they have friends.
Here is what George Carlin had to say about democracy.
“Maybe something else sucks around here... like, the public. Yeah, the public sucks. There’s a nice campaign slogan for somebody: ‘The Public Sucks. F*ck Hope.’ “
We are not the Brazil that De Gaulle talked about. We are Terry Gilliam’s ‘Brazil’, the movie.
Yes, tragic.
Your self indulgent and gratuitous trashing of Trump sullies the discourse.
