(CBSLA/AP) Thousands of teachers who may go on strike against the nations second-largest school district next month marched and rallied in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday.
United Teachers Los Angeles (UTLA) union estimates 50,000 were there.
The crowd had relief from overcrowding at the top of their wish list.

UTLA teachers and supporters wore red for unity. They are seeing red over LAUSDs reluctance to part with more green.
I want to see investment in the schools and in the kids, said LAUSD parent Carmen Montecito.
UTLA says if LAUSD would just tap in to its almost $2 billion reserve fund it could solve a lot of problems.
Its unconscionable to hold on to that money acting like kids dont need it now. We need it now, said UTLA President Alex Caputo-Pearl.

What is really bringing this to a head (taxpayers versus teachers) is that it is becoming very clear in many districts that the American taxpayers are spending massive amounts of money on primarily non-American students. As fewer and fewer Americans breed, this situation will become more clearly defined.
In my town in NJ school taxes are about 3/4 of our high property taxes, and our student body is about 3/4 foreigners. This is one factor driving the evacuation of Americans from NJ; another is that companies don’t want to pay it either (so they flee as well).

If they all quit, the kids’ apparent IQs will go up 20 points....
Many, if not most, teachers are highly compensated for doing a poor job. There is minimal gauging of their effectiveness. I have never met an “educator” who didn’t moan incessantly about how underpaid and over worked they were. What a pathetic scam.
