VLAD’S NUKE ISLAND Russia is setting up a military base on Caribbean island to host NUCLEAR BOMBERS

RUSSIA has sent supersonic bombers capable of carrying nuclear missiles to one of Venezuela’s islands in the Caribbean Sea, according to reports.

This follows news earlier in the month that the former-Soviet state was planning to set up its first military base in the Caribbean after striking a deal with cash-strapped Venezuela.

Venezuela’s socialist president Nicolas Maduro did not object to the proposals, according to Russian newspaper Nezavisimaya Gazeta.

The deployment will represent the one of the largest postings of the Russian military in the region since the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962.

Under Venezuelan law, military bases cannot be established by foreign nations in the country, but a temporary deployment of warplanes is possible.

Maduro and his left-wing administration has an acrimonious relationship with Washington.

Russian military expert Colonel Shamil Gareyev said establishing a long-term presence in Venezuela was an economically sensible decision if more joint exercises are to take place.

"Our strategic bombers will not only not have to return to Russia every time, but also won't perform aerial refueling while on a patrol mission in the Americas,” he added.

Russian military Colonel Eduard Rodyukov said the move was in response to US president Donald Trump’s threat to scrap nuclear treaties.

The US recently gave Russia 60 days to comply with a treaty banning the development of intermediate range nuclear missiles or the agreement would be scrapped altogether.

US officials accused Russia of developing missiles in violation of the treaty, a charge Russia has strongly denied.

The supersonic bombers – nicknamed White Swans – are capable of carrying short-range nuclear missiles.

The planes can fly over 7,500 miles without refuelling.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo blasted the move on Twitter: “Russia’s government has sent bombers halfway around the world to Venezuela.

“The Russian and Venezuelan people should see this for what it is: two corrupt governments squandering public funds, and squelching liberty and freedom while their people suffer.”

Didn’t Gunny Highway already take care of this?

Didn’t we see this show in 1962?

Yes, but there’s much more happening now than back then. Several kinds of threats are worse, including the nuclear threat. The study is so complicated, that it’s time consuming to organize for putting into comprehensive graphics for viewer simplification. The numbers of aggressions are also surprising, even to someone who has already seen quite a few.

Vlad has learned the art of dealing from Trump. This is what he is going to bring to the negotiating table.

Russia is our #1 enemy. Has been for decades.

I beg to differ. Our #1 enemy are the neocons of the Deep State, who have worked night and day to make Russia our #2 enemy.

He was a colonel in the KGB, and his Soviet education before that was lengthy.

The bigger picture is beginning to unfold and it does not look good. Stormy weather coming.

The worst enemy is the enemy within. I have a video on Sun Tzu’s “Art of War” that I listen to several times each year. I also have a book by Chairman Mao on how he used Sun Tzu’s techniques to take over China. It is also being used by satan.

Let those who have eyes see and those with ears hear.

Trigger point to protect Maduro. Russia offered to do the same for Chavez in '09 and he said well ok you can land there to refuel but rejected a base because he knew he didn't need it.

Didn't need what, you ask?

There is a presidential retreat (one imagines a modified stucco barracks with a cheap tile roof, because that's exactly what it) on the island, and when the (Soon!) time comes Putin's bombers and their complement are there to evacuate Maduro and his billion-dollar portfolio to Cuba or if the situation is glowing red-hot, all the way to Moskva.

What that mojado Maduro can't understand is that the overthrow will come to him like a thief in the night, long before he gets an inkling it's time to make tracks. Meanwhile that coup is underway, the Russian bomber guys on Las Isla will be watching Baywatch reruns...then get recalled home without the billion-dollar payload.

Other media outlets are carrying this story too. It is fact and it is time for Trump to say NO to the Russians in this issue.

Putin barely has the money to hang onto the crimea much less get involved in any other conflicts.

No one is invading Prebaltika, relax.

Its also no one's damn business other than Russia and Belarus how many troops are where.

I hate the hysterics from the Sun and other UK outlets. They make out like Putin is a monster foaming from the mouth for military conquest.

This is a direct response to the US announcement of withdrawal from the INF treaty. In my opinion, Trump should look closely at what his State Dept is doing here and re-evaluate this action.

They have been claiming, even pre-Trump, that Russia has been "violating" it, but no one seems to know exactly how (including the Russian Foreign Ministry, who are exasperated).

Exactly right. There is no reason Russia should be an enemy. They are standing there exasperated as we keep poking them with ever sharper sticks, and when they finally respond in any way, we scream "LOOK EVIL PUTIN".

Crimea isn’t going anywhere (and doesn’t really require money to “hang on to”)...and lack of money is NOT the reason Russia isn’t invading the Baltics or attaching the USA.

An island that is so small that basing a large heavy bomber would seem nearly impossible even with the substantial expansion of the runways and taxiways of the airport. The current airport has no regular staffing, is for light aircraft and its one runway is 9700 ft long. the Tu 160 is 177 ft long and has a wingspan (when fully extended I presume) of 183 ft. Also this islet is completely flat and in periods of storm is partially or completely water covered. All structures on the island, which are lightweight are elevated. This sounds like hokum although the President should state now any new basing of foreign troops in the Caribbean is a violation of the Monroe Doctrine and will not be tolerated.

About ten years ago, Russian engineers chose the Venezuelan island of La Orchila as a site for their Russian naval base. Elevations run up to 456 feet. Looks like a pretty place with good ground for a big project.
