The Sun is the British version of the National Inquirer. The ‘island; is unnamed and if any such thing were attempted this would spark off a direct confrontation as it is a direct violation of the Monroe Doctrine and a relay of Cuba ‘62 on a lesser scale. The Baltic invasion article is about the same. Any attempt would bring about a US-Russia confrontation. These articles seem to be just alarmist provocations considering the near non-existent sourcing and their provenance.

If it’s not from one of Russia’s state-owned news offices, it’s not true, eh?

Venezuela Agreed To Let Russia Set Up A Bomber Outpost On This Caribbean Island: Reports

http://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/25570/venezuela-agreed-to-let-russia-set-up-a-bomber-outpost-on-this-carribean-island-reports
“Russian media outlets are reporting that the Kremlin is planning to establish a forward outpost on the Venezuelan island of La Orchila in the Caribbean Sea and base nuclear-capable Tu-160 Blackjack bombers, two of which just wrapped up a recent deployment to the country, at the site. If true, this could help bolster the embattled regime of Venezuela’s dictatorial president Nicolás Maduro and would significantly change the strategic reality in the Western Hemisphere for the United States.”

From TASS: Press review: Russia to set up Caribbean base and meet Israeli brass to discuss Iran

"Colonel Eduard Rodyukov, a Corresponding Member of the Academy of Military Sciences, in turn, told Nezavisimaya Gazeta that "the arrival of Russia’s Tu-160 strategic bombers to Central America is kind of a signal to Trump to make him realize that abandoning nuclear disarmament treaties will have a boomerang effect."

Deploying TU-160s in South America just to send a message will have a boomerang effect too.

Other media outlets are carrying this story too. It is fact and it is time for Trump to say NO to the Russians in this issue.

The Monroe Doctrine relates to foreign efforts to take over or interfere with independent countries in our hemisphere. If the Venezuelans invite the Russians in, it doesn't apply. Remember that while the Monroe Doctrine was announced, Britain, France, Spain, Holland, and Denmark all had colonies in the New World.
