Graham said Trump told him "some things I didn't know that make me feel a lot better about where we're headed in Syria."
Sen. Lindsey Graham told reporters Sunday after a lunch with President Trump that plans to withdraw 2,000 U.S. troops from Syria are "slowing down in a smart way."
Graham, a South Carolina Republican, said outside the White House that talks about removing military personnel from the country are in a "pause situation."
The senator said Trump told him "some things I didn't know" about his plans in Syria "that make me feel a lot better about where we're headed" in the Middle Eastern country.
Is Graham the new VP? Is Pence still traumatized from the Chuck & Nancy “shut the government down” meeting?
stupidass ... did Trump authorize him to speak on his behalf??
stupidass ... did Trump authorize him to speak on his behalf??
Mini Me McCain strikes again.
You mean like how Saudi military will now be taking over the duties on their own dime, and in their own backyard?
Yes, for all intents and purposes Graham is the new VP.
If he got Trump to slow down and “pause” the withdraw, Trump is the VP here.
After his lunch with the President today, Sen Graham recounted a list of concerns that he (and others) have raised about withdrawing from Syria:
-Finishing off ISIS
-Protecting Kurds from Turkey
-Protecting Israel from Iran
-Preventing Iran from consolidating a ground supply route (Superhighway) from Tehran to Beirut
The President did know stuff that Graham didn’t, which Graham said made him feel a whole lot better about where we are going in Syria after he was told.
Bottom Line: President Trump can handle a lot of complexity, knows who he really dealing with - and he is setting up a big new deal in the Mid East.
Good point.
Indeed.
In a finite amount of time Trump could only tell Graham “some” of the things he doesn’t know...
If he got Trump to slow down and pause the withdraw, Trump is the VP here.

Come on, he was humoring and reassuring the girl.
“You mean like how Saudi military will now be taking over the duties on their own dime, and in their own backyard?”
A bigger Saudi footprint is not a good thing. No way, no how. Assad needs to use those S-300s on any Saudi plane in his skies.
Anyone who believes anything Graham says is a fool.
Trump was never going to pull out willy-nilly.
There’re ways to leave without compromising security so that IS doesn’t come back yet still extricate ourselves from their Middle East garbage internecine never ending fights.
Nah.. it was those very beneficial chuck n nancy deals from last year. He is just stunned about how much benefit we got from those as linsdey n trump line up amnesty after shelling out 10 Billion to mexico n central America.
Not sure.
Saudi doesn't seem to be its old Saudi self, they now are even somewhat allied with Israel.
They either may be on the edge of a civil war, or they may have seen massive societal and government reforms. It's a good thing if they want to be a legitimate, modern player in that part of the world.
Now, if only we could get "The Crown Prince" to wear a suit like a normal person, instead of dressing up like Ahab the Arab.
(Look at me! Look at me!)
I seriously doubt he authorized Graham to talk about a highly classified national security type conversation that involves the movements of our troops but who cares thats not important the only thing that matters is that Lindsey feels better about things.
