Some freeper had a great way of dealing with it to keep it all straight - replace transgender with fake.
But yes, as another has said - why not just call him a woman?
I’ll tell you why - the prefix “transgender” is a proud label, and makes them special and part of a group - all at the same time.

Fixed: According to the 911 call, the victim, a
transgender man pretending to be a woman, reported being assaulted in the bathroom at the bar.
I changed it to pretending 'cause that's all he can do. XY is XY forever.
