Why did Trump go out of his way to ensure that no records of his meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin exist?

Is the President required to provide transcripts of any or all of his conversations?

Is this considered a 'public record'?

What is the precedent for releasing or withholding transcripts?

If that is going to be the new standard then every congress critter needs to provide a transcript of every meeting they have with PACS, business leaders, lobbyist, special interest groups and every meeting of congressional leadership/caucus members. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.
