Jeffrey Lord: Red Lobster Hillary Cabal Targets Tucker Carlson
American Spectator ^ | Jeffrey Lord

Posted on 01/15/2019 3:10:30 AM PST by RoosterRedux

I had a great dinner at a local Red Lobster the other night. The crab cakes were excellent, the staff and service friendly and terrific.

But alas that was my last meal at the Red Lobster.

The Red Lobster, which I thought was in the business of selling seafood dinners and lunches, is in another business altogether: leftwing politics.

The company, owned by an outfit in San Francisco called Golden Gate Capital, is run by a slew of Hillary Clinton supporters who have decided to follow a prompting from an ex-Clinton staffer and make censorship their main product, joining the anti-free press jihad that has made it their business to silence conservatives in the media. The latest example is the targeting of Fox’s Tucker Carlson, with the Red Lobster officiously and piously announcing the following:

Red Lobster’s advertising buying guidelines reflect our core values and commitment to supporting programming that represents the highest standards of good taste, fair practice and objectivity.

...

Let’s be clear. When the curtain is pulled back, the real “core values” that run the Red Lobster, courtesy of the network of leftwing activists disguised as corporate officials, are contempt for a free press and free speech.

America is at that awkward stage. It’s too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards.

On the road to tyranny, we’ve gone so far that polite political action is about as useless as a miniskirt in a convent. ... Something’s eventually going to happen. Government will bloat until it chokes us to death, or one more tyrannical power grab will turn out to be one too many. ... Maybe it’ll be one more round of “reasonable gun control” or one more episode of burning children to death to save them from “child abuse.” Whatever, something will snap.

Claire Wolfe

The ideal citizen of a tyrannical state is the man or woman who bows in silent obedience in exchange for the status of a well-cared-for herd animal. Thinking people become the tyrants’ worst enemies.

Claire Wolfe

When only cops have guns, it’s called a “police state”.

Claire Wolfe

I don’t trust a government I can’t shoot back at

Claire Wolfe

We must never violate principles. We must never initiate violence. And we should never harm the innocent. But at some point, unless governments back off, we have to stop being nice.

Claire Wolfe

Like ‘em or hate ‘em, these once peaceful gun owners of the ‘90s are feeling a lot like Jews of 1939 Germany. Maligned, lied about, persecuted and threatened. Afraid, confused and angry.

“Boint coffee” Jackie Mason

I prefer Dunkin‘ Donuts. Starbucks has always been on my list because of price and quality.

Darden sold Red Lobster in 2013 IIRC.

"Their food isn’t that great."

Yeah... And that dish they call "Scampi" is totally wrong.. They should call it skimpy..!

Maybe they should call Rosie O'Donnell, she did wonders for K-Mart.. (snort) :)

Profound...and accurate.

The parent company for Red Lobster also owns Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse, as well as several other eateries.

NO, research is your friend!

Darden Restaurants, Inc. (HQ Orlando, FL) SOLD Red Lobster in 2014 but still owns the following chains; Eddie V's Prime Seafood, The Capital Grille, Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, Bahama Breeze, Seasons 52, Yard House and Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen.

I tend to agree about patronizing locals but lets not hang the innocent here.

No need to boycott. Eating seafood at Red Lobster is like buying meat at McDonalds. These are one-time events for people who enjoy food.

New names of products or services you need to take off your patronizing list - Gillette and Red Lobster. The corporate world is turning self-destructively fascist.

Fake Seafood. The most laughable thing is to see people at the beach with tons of options for fresh seafood eating at a Red Lobster.

Bad seafood. Stick to local joints or cook it up at home.

I get my crabs from Dirty Dick’s in Panama City Beach.

File that under TMI.

Skip chain restaurants and patronize your local food places.

That is excellent advice. I rarely have a bad experience in a locally owned restaurant because by and large, the owners are much more involved in the operation and have a vested interest in having customers come back.

In fairness to the chain restaurants, you get an overall decent and consistent experience (they all have a formula and stick to it) there but it is never something special. Also, half the people working there will be doing something else in six months and many of them couldn't care less if you ever came back.

With all the phone apps like Yelp and Waze, there's really no excuse anymore for not knowing the better local restaurants in your area.
