My concern, however is that it would in the final analysis be limited, and we are at a point that this particular SOTU address needs maximum exposure.
The MSM could justifiably view it as a 2020 political campaign and just would not feel any obligation to cover a presentation to "ordinary" citizens; i.e., it needs as many full government trappings as possible.
In any event, I think it important and very timely that Trump draws out Pelosi with a flat refusal to use the people's House for a traditional and official government function. That plays well with her denial of government paychecks until Trump agrees with reducing border security in the face of obvious and real threats.
