The Democrat Party Has Forgotten Their Roots (by AFGE 2463 President)

I am President of AFGE Local 2463 representing all the Smithsonian Museums, Research Centers, National Zoo as well as the Kennedy Center. My membership is faced with a government shutdown while the political games continue between the Republicans and the Democrats.

The Democratic Party has forgotten its roots and which groups actually built the Democratic Party. They have taken for granted the union members, the working poor and the African American Community who have marched to the polls and pulled the lever for the Democrats.

Construction sites used to be filled with high paying Union members building housing for Americans. Now you would be lucky to find a union member on one of these sites due to illegal immigration....

I only bring up these facts to demonstrate that the Democrats in DC have forsaken their base for possible votes by illegal immigrants down the political road. How else can they explain their refusal to even put forth some funds for the wall when they know that it will be at the cost of this Union’s employees going forth without a paycheck to pay their landlord or utilities? They have taken us for granted and I say that it is time to remind them who brought them to the dance....

The band is playing their last song and your dancing partner, (the Union) is getting ready to look for a different dance partner who is more in tune with their dance moves. David Hendrick is the president of AFGE Local 2463 and works at the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum as a restoration shop chemist.

Get this man a MAGA had and waltz him on to the floor.

I've shouted this out until I was blue in the face-illegals in this country impact the African American community much more than any other group.

The NYC construction industry is what's wrong with open borders in a microcosm.

In the 60s & 70's there was a huge push to increase AA participation in the construction industry, not always legally-but it was successful. It was unusual to pass a construction site in NYC and not see a good number of blacks on that job.
NO MORE-those days are over-Look at a building site today-especially in the outer boroughs and count how many AA's you see.
What you will discover is a majority of East Asians & Hispanics-almost all working off the books and a good number here illegally.
NYC and its Democrat administration are fully aware of what happening-& couldn't give a shit!

The internet has expanded, I guess, and I was able to find the SF story I referenced above. It's called "Dead End," and was written by Norman Spinrad. Here is a synopsis

Willy Carson, a Master Draftsman, is out of work. But despite his desperate looking there is no chance of another job. And, there is no need: the government supplies $175 (a Basic Citizen Stipend) a week, free housing, unlimited drugs. Because lower skilled jobs are increasingly mechanized the only available jobs are further up the ladder and Carson cannot rise up the ladder. And having run out of idiotic hobbies Carson is closed to despair.

The entire US contains one remaining Wilderness Area, perhaps there among the trees he will feel real pain. The fears of mechanization extrapolated to hyperbolic levels… A genuinely effective allegory.
