This GOP Senator Is 'Not Prepared' to Endorse Trump in 2020 [Collins]

Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) said Tuesday that she was “not prepared” to endorse President Trump in his 2020 reelection bid.

“I’m not prepared at this point to make that decision,” the senator told PBS NewsHour’s Judy Woodruff, noting that she was focusing on her own reelection campaign.

“But do you expect at some point, between now and November of 2020, to endorse the president, since you’re a Republican?” Woodruff pressed.

“I don’t know, I’m going to have to see what happens between now and then and look at what his record is,” Collins said. "I can’t imagine that I would endorse any of the Democrats who are running right now but I’m going to focus on 2020 in 2020.”

She also refused to respond one way or the other about whether she’d endorse a GOP challenger to Trump, saying she’s “neither ruling it in nor ruling it out.”

. @JudyWoodruff : "Are you, at this point, prepared to endorse President Trump?" @SenatorCollins : "I'm really focused on my own [re-election] campaign for 2020, and I really haven't focused on the presidential campaign. So, I'm not prepared at this point to make that decision."

While Democrats have been lining up to challenge President Trump in 2020, there have not yet been any Republicans who have announced a challenge. Former Sen. Jeff Flake put any speculation that he may challenge the president to rest this week when he told CBS's John Dickerson that he "always said that I do hope that there is a Republican who challenges the president in the primary. I still hope that somebody does, but that somebody won’t be me. I will not be a candidate.”

The ONLY way to stop leftist crap is to re-populate the courts with conservatives, and make sure that the judges mentioned above are outvoted. This doesn’t happen overnight, and sure as hell won’t happen with Hillary selecting judges.

And by the way, we’re talking about living in a country much like the Soviet Union was under Stalin in the 1930s (during the Great Terror), if the Dems can finally get full control over government.

I don’t see how one can look at the lawless criminality of the DOJ and not think we are not already in Stalinist Russia.

The same corrupt Republicans who give those DOJ Deep Staters carte blanche to commit felonies are the same people we expect to confirm reliable Constitutionalist judges?

I just don’t see that happening. I suspect in the end the bulk of “Trump” judges will be loyal to the Deep State corportists and not Main Street because it seems McConnell has quite a bit of influence on which judges get nominated. Time will tell, of course.

You may want to read up a bit of you think things are as bad here as they were under Stalin.

I lived in the FSU for many years. I am intimately aware of its history.

Mike Flynn and Roger Stone would have been treated no worse in the USSR than they have been here. The police state tactics, bankrupting, blacklisting, etc., are very similar, actually.

Why does this Democrat stay in the Republican party?

More to the point, why do Republican voters keep electing her?

Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) said Tuesday that she was “not prepared” to endorse President Trump in his 2020 reelection bid.

Which will come as a relief to the Trump campaign. Far from being a positive, a Susan Collins endorsement(and what it would take to get it), could erode President Trump's support with his base.

Getting two SCOTUS appointees, and likely a third, is a very big deal

IIRC she said she wouldn’t vote for Trump but don’t think she endorsed Hillary, may be wrong Back in 2016, being a GOP never Trumper after the convention, was a nod, nod, wink, wink about what they did and wanted their fan base voters to do as well. In 2019, it's a good way to expose yourself as a member of the Deep State.
