After the shock of the New York infanticide bill, the Republicans adapted to the new strategy, and turned the tide in Virginia. The Democrat Party hoped to spend the next couple of months rolling up victory after victory, but instead their new strategy was only effective for a few days.
Do you think the Governor of Massachusetts, New Jersey or Connecticut wants to put his neck on the same block as Governor Nothram of Virginia?
