They are not going to use it for infrastructure ... it’s a green tax based upon the square feet of asphalt or concrete that will cause RAIN to run off rather than sink in (supposedly). The tax will go to feed the green movements full employment of near morons with PHDs in Environmental Science.
I don’t think this is anything new...Imagine tjis kind of “revenue enhancement” is one of the things discussed whenever guv officials get together and compare notes...
I live in Adams County CO and am charged $180/yr in storm water fees...We average 17” of rain and 49 inches of snow per year...And the State of Colorado in their generosity graciously allows me to collect up to 110 gallons of rain or snow melt in no more than 2 barrels...How kind can you get?
We have a so-called taxpayer bill of rights in CO that is supposed to require a vote of the people to raise any new taxes...But call it a “fee” and it’s OK...
Scam is an apt word for it...Legalized theft is another...Pay it or incur a lien by the county on your property...

Exactly so. Here in FL, we have zoning requirements that require all new constructions to have a run-off holding pond for their parking lots and new subdivision streets, to return the rain run-off to the ground water table instead of the sewer system or creeks and bays..................
Yes, and no “storm water “dept”, permanently staffed, funded and taxed for.
