Thats a red herring. Tons of places fire Americans and hire foreign. Disney is a prominent example. Brought in a bunch of foreigners, made the Americans TRAIN their replacements in order to get any severance, then fired them when the foreigner was trained.
It isn’t that we don’t HAVE the skilled engineers, it is that the can hire foreigners cheaper.
Bingo. Don’t forget the insurance issue. A big part the problem is average age of employee when paying for health benefits. Plenty of available highly skilled older IT workers, but they push up the health care costs. There also the wrong headed view that they/we are less capable.
I wonder what's going to happen to all these Indians when the Chinese start replacing THEM.
