I wouldnt be so quick to reflexively come down against law enforcement in cases like this. Its a delicate question with conflicting answers. When a journalist receives information that was disseminated illegally he isnt just a journalist anymore ... hes also a witness to a crime and potentially complicit in the crime, too.
For those who won’t click:
The reporter’s story was regarding the death of a public defender whose career specialty was POLICE CORRUPTION.
When he simply kept saying, “lawyer, lawyer, lawyer” they held him in CUFFS for 6 hours.
When breaking into his home with a sledge hammer, guns drawn, the warrant was for, “stolen or embezzled property” —yeah, for INFORMATION he was TOLD.
San Fran is verrrrry liberal.
“When fascism comes to America it will be dressed-up as liberalism”
I forget which 60’s liberal radical said that.
What are the chances the cops didn’t KILL that Public Defender..?
IT CAN HAPPEN IN AMERICA
Welcome to the world of democrat selectively enforced laws.
Violent illegals treated with kid gloves.
Those who don’t conform...
“About 10 officers from the San Francisco Police Department were bashing the front gate of his home in the Outer Richmond neighborhood with a sledgehammer, he said. It was just after 8 oclock in the morning.”
Reporters don’t deserve any special protections. That said, this reeks of retaliation.
If you break into my home, expect to be greeted by rifle fire from a 30-30.
He was handcuffed for five and a half hours according to bakersfield.com =>
“A receipt certifying his release from custody confirms he was handcuffed from 8:22 a.m. to 1:55 p.m.”
When the liberals are in charge, everything is fair game. Their agenda subordinates free speech, privacy rights, attorney-client privilege, due process, the freedom of political association, freedom of religion, property rights, gun rights; literally every right granted to free people by God or man. Its futile to point any particular one out as theyre all in jeopardy.
Regardless of the justification for this man's arrest, these Gestapo like tactics are clearly used to frighten and intimidate the [non violent] populace. The message is to the rest of us, keep your head down, don't talk back to the state or you will be next.
Adachi was out with a woman not his wife and had consumed edible cannabis, cocaine and an antidepressant, didn’t feel well and went to rest up with his “date” to an apartment of another woman friend who he had arranged to be available. He refused to let his date take him to the hospital, most likely because his wife would find out that he wasn’t working at the office that evening. This raid is basically punishment for revealing Adachi’s affair and drug use and by extension implying that San Francisco’s govt. lives in an ambiance of immorality and corruption, something they are extremely sensitive to for all the obvious reasons.
“Thomas R. Burke, a First Amendment lawyer in the Bay Area who represents Carmody, said that he believes the police overreached significantly.”
They do this all the time with impunity! It is really no different than what “federal law enforcement” has done to President Trump, and it needs to stop.
