Richard is a genius and a wonderful person. What I find odd is that so many Freepers now seem to embrace isolationism; it was only a decade ago that this forum almost unanimously supported traditional American extension of military power for peacekeeping purposes.

When I say "traditional" I refer to, for instance, the creation of the U.S. Navy to combat the Barbary menace.

Russia and RT are naturally predisposed to our keeping out of affairs in the Middle East, as they always have been. The misstep in Richard's interview was saying "yes" when the interviewer implied that our troops would be happy about us "getting out." That might have been an edit popped in later.

Know who your enemies are - they are often sitting right next to you appearing to be your friends.

The problem is that the post wwII industrial and trade relations that the USA created after WWII are not working for us anymore. Even more importantly, the agreements we made with the Chinese never worked.
