Joe Biden accused of plagiarizing parts of new climate platform

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden is facing claims that his campaign plagiarized at least five parts of the climate platform released on Tuesday.

The apparent similarities were first flagged on Twitter by a progressive activist. By Tuesday afternoon, most of the examples in the Biden campaign platform had been updated online to include attribution to a third party.

Biden vows $5 trillion deal to re-enter the Paris Climate Accord that the Obama admin negotiated
and Pres Trump rejected on the first day of his presidency....

Barack Obama transfers $500m to Green Climate Fund to protect Paris deal last days in office;
second $500M withdrawn from State Dept used executive powers; bypassed congressional support.

Michael Slezak / Tue 17 Jan 2017 / Last modified on Wed 14 Feb 2018

Barack Obama has transferred a second $500m installment from the State Dept to the Green Climate Fund just three days before he leaves office. Photograph: Evan Vucci/AP Barack Obama has heeded calls to help secure the future of the historic Paris agreement by transferring a second $500m instalment to the Green Climate Fund, just three days before he leaves office.

The fund was a key aspect of the Paris agreement signed in 2015, which aims to keep global warming “well below” 2C and aspires to keep warming to 1.5C. Established in 2010, it is financed by wealthy countries and used to assist developing countries with adaptation and mitigation. It was widely seen as a key measure to bring both rich and poor countries to the negotiating table. The US committed to transferring $3bn to the fund. The new instalment leaves $2bn owing, with the incoming president, Donald Trump, expected to cease any further payments.

Wonder if the $500M made a short cut thru a numbered account in a French Polynesian bank?

Ah, but do you not understand? When Joe expropriates all these smart and clever courses of action, he appears to be both a “deep” thinker and something of a wit.

Well, he is half right. On both counts.

Full disclosure - I can’t stand Biden.

On the other hand no one owns the ideas, and all of them have been written about previously for some time, whether or not in a new “Green New Deal” kind of report or otherwise.

I think if investigators do deeper research they are going to find that much language they are citing as plagiarized from some earlier report, was in fact plagiarized in those earlier reports from sources written earlier still. They are not new ideas, and everyone in their own recent reports is adopting either similar language in some cases or language used by others already.

I can’t stand Biden, but I think this is a tempest in a teapot. I guess the hard Left is trying to take out the “doesn’t look so Left candidate” (though to me there is far less than six degrees separating Biden from the hard Left).

It’s silly to accuse any politician of plagerism. No major-league politician writes their own speeches, or manifistos. Maybe their staff speech writers, or policy advisors lift things from someone else’s staff writers — but, real-world politics is not accademia.

At least he’s consistent.

“What’s in a quote? For Joe Biden, his plagiarisation of a speech delivered by Neil Kinnock, then Labour leader, helped put pay to his own campaign to win the Democrats’ presidential nomination more than 20 years ago.”

Once a plagiarist, always a plagiarist.

Once a cheat, always a cheat.

Once a liar, always a liar.

Once a pedophilic groper, always a pedophilic groper.

Once an intemperate cad, always an intemperate cad.

Once a sexual pervert for deliberately swimming in the nude in front of female Secret Service agents, always a sexual pervert.

Biden will be 78 if elected. Four years, that's 82. One does not change suddenly at 78-80 years old. These behaviors listed above are who Joe Biden is.

And at that age, he doesn't have any new ideas. He's been in government for almost 50 years with nothing to show for it. He's a professional bullsh*tter who's learned to play the political game in the Swamp in DC. That's who he is.

That's why he got caught plagiarizing again. It's what he does for one thing. But he has no new ideas so he steals them from the younger democRATS.

Joe is stuck in the past. Joe won't be able to keep up with Trump during the campaign. Joe will pull a Hillary and nap and loaf a lot thinking that it's finally his turn.

But it's not his turn anymore than it was Hillary's turn. Trump will take it going away in 2020.

That will be fixed by reparations paid by us the taxpayers. They can assess us a percentage of the New Deal,Fair Deal,New Frontier,War on Poverty --------and the unforgettable Obamacare. All paid as reparations deducted from income.

I know you are sorry you brought it up. Hopefully the Dems are too busy watching MSNBC to read our posts here.
