Russia is our natural enemy too...always.
Always is a long time.
Historically, they were our ally in WWII, they did as much to beat Nazism as we did, see the siege of Stalingrad for one small example.
In the dimly foreseeable future, they and of all people, China, may well be our allies in eliminating the scourge of islam from the face of the earth.
Then we can go back to fighting each other in peace.
Politics and the need to survive is the mother of some very strange bedfellows...
