“What? No alligator moat? I’m disappointed.”

The “technology improvements” referenced in the article for this segment, are rumored to include an “active measures” anti-climb feature.

You can see video of a border jumper drop from the first new segment in Calexico, like stunned mullet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEQR1wK5FCM (around 21 seconds in).

He broke both femurs, and his back. More than half of people who fall from that height, die from it.

Then build a bollard see through wall 1000 feet inland.

Drones easily see over concrete walls.

If it has holes, it ain’t no wall. Ask China.

Fisher is one of the contractors who has bid on some of the sections.

That sounds good. But wouldn’t it be better if that person fell into the jaws of an alligator? I kidding of course, sort of6. I just have to have a little humor sometimes to keep me from crying about the state of affairs in this country and the world for that matter.

This great, also its going to funnel illegals and coyotes to specific areas not done yet where more boots on the ground will be waiting. Or area denial equipment.

It’ll work but I wish they wouldn’t call it a wall. I’ve built engineered retaining walls, block walls, poured in place walls, shotcrete walls, even brick and stone walls. If a customer wanted me to build a wall and they got a steel bollard fence,I wouldn’t get paid.

Nah, in the tiny pic at the top of the thread, the completed brown wall section looks like an oblique ramp. It’s like an optical illusion. Sometimes you can see completed fence; other times I see a nice smooth ramp to make it easy for Pedro to “come on over!” Now that I see the completed wall, it’s harder to see the ramp.

Look at the small pic, stand back, cock your head and squint. It’s right there.

“wouldn’t it be better if that person fell into the jaws of an alligator?”

The alligator could be badly hurt by somebody falling from that high up.

"That looks like a nice, smooth, 50 foot long ramp going to the top of the fence. Won’t that be easy to climb?

My thoughts exactly.

Oops! I didn’t notice it said 50 ft. I think you meant 30 ft Bollards with NO solid part at the top so they can’t shimmy all the way up and over. Is that what you meant? Because that is what I was thinking. I don’t see any solid panels at the top like I have seen on others.

In the first small pic at the beginning, the orange/brown trapezoidal think looked like a ramp to me...until I figured out it is the completed section of wall receding into the distance. It looks triangular because of the perspective and vanishing point. It really isn’t a ramp.

But I’m sure the Dems want to build such an easy on-ramp for them.

Here are some pictures from the first barrier built in Calexico (last year they finished the West side of the Port of Entry, this year they are doing the East side). You can get a better look at the design:

Thanks. Looks like an impressive and imposing barrier!

There was a post a couple months ago that showed some pics of a stretch being built in Texas. They showed the depth of the foundation hole and the amount of concrete being poured into the hole. That was very impressive!

This sure beats the old "traffic barrier." There are 300 miles of this on the border.

The Southern Texas barrier has to do double duty as flood control levee for a major river, that is subject to hurricanes from the Gulf of Mexico.

They are going to pour some massive foundations for those segments.

“I don’t see any solid panels at the top like I have seen on others.”

Those are called Anti-climb plates, and they are commonly on the top of bollards. They are a real obstacle to free climbers (those using just their hands and feet; without equipment, like ropes or ladders).

There have been many allusions made to hidden anti-climb features in the Calexico segment, including by the President himself. This article refers to unspecified “technology improvements” to be part of the construction.

The Calexico area led the Nation in attacks on Border Patrol officers (mainly young men resisting arrest). That area had a special officer safety requirement, due to that high violence. Once the new 30 foot bollards went in on the West side of town (where an Outlet Mall was right up to the border fence), that area’s activity dropped to whisper.

Along with whatever secret sauce technology they have included, they have also included wider clear observation areas, bright lighting at night, excellent high speed patrol road, complete coverage by day/night cameras, as well as additional sensors/alarm systems.

They call the whole package “Wall System”.

No need to do that as I wasn't looking for something that I know doesn't exist.☺

Btw, way, why would they design and build a ramp going up the wall??
