Undocumented immigrants should have access to healthcare, former Vice President Joe Biden said in a CNN interview released Friday.
“I think undocumented people need to have a means by which they can be covered when they’re sick,” he said in a CNN interview, adding, “This is just common decency.”
“In an emergency they should have health care. Everybody should,” he added. "How do you say 'You're undocumented, I'm gonna let you die, man?'"
Biden's comments follow previous statements during the first Democratic debate last week in which Biden was among several contenders who called for undocumented immigrants to have health care.
“You cannot let people who are sick, no matter where they come from, no matter what their status, go uncovered. You can’t do that. It’s just going to be taken care of. Period. You have to. It’s the humane thing to do,” he said.
But it's not entirely clear what healthcare benefits Biden would want to provide to immigrants in the country illegally.
The Democratic Party is moving toward providing healthcare to undocumented immigrants after years in which the party generally did not seek to cover them.
ObamaCare, as one example, did not offer healthcare to people in the country illegally.
Republicans believe the shift by Democrats on the issue is one that will help President Trump and their party in the 2020 elections.
Now we're the emergency room for the world.
Rising heath care costs began in the 60s when emergency rooms at private hospitals could no longer turn away patients without insurance.
How do you say “get out of our country?”
How does a country say, “Sneak into the U.S. and let THEM take care of you because we won’t”?
Joe, your side is one saying that, to millions of babies.
We already give illegal aliens health care, at every emergency room in America.
The same way you tell Americans I guess.
How do you say, “Get your own government and taxpayers to pay your medical bills.”
The real problem is that illegals prefer "free" care in the ER paid for by the taxpayer over waltzing into the local pharmacy and getting a recommendation for OTC medication which might cost as much as $10 of their own money.
Well Joe, what you instead say is “I’m not going to allow you to invade my country.”
Then you let their home country take care of them. We are a sovereign country. We are not the world.

Seniors that, by the way, risked life and limb to secure the freedoms you enjoy.
Apparently Biden has no problem saying to American veterans and seniors, “I’m gonna let you die”

How did you tell those SIXTY MILLION BABIES you allowed to be ABORTED?
He has a point, and one that has to be addressed. It is what drives rules about emergency rooms, and ambulances, what drives police and fire as well.
Would you have the police go back to the precinct if they found that the people being robbed were illegals? Would you have the fire truck ask if a home was owned legally or by illegals before deciding whether to put out a fire, or save people or pets?
If border patrol had been there, and seen that 2-year-old walking back into the water, would we say “let her drown”?
When you see someone in need, do you ask for their citizenship papers?
When we talk about health care in general, as a society we would not let a person die on the sidewalk in front of an emergency room, even if we found that they had refused to by health insurance, and then blown their money on alcohol and parties.
But — that doesn’t mean they should get free health insurance. What they are going to get is CHARITY, which means they should be thankful for how others come to their aid, not picketing to demand their “right”.
Obamacare said that to millions of hard-working middle class Americans.
“How do you say I’m gonna let you die, man?’”
Easy Joe, they say it to legal American residents without insurance every freaking day!
News Flash Joe, Millions of Americans have no health insurance but make too much to get Medicaid. You better get them covered before spending one dime on healthcare for illegals!
