Ak-74 is chambered in 5.45×39mm. Either the caliber was wrong (probably) in report, or it was a conversion.. Though I don’t know why someone would take a Russian arm and convert it to .223.

The Kalashnikov platform can be and indeed is chambered in at least three calibers commonly imported or manufactured. 762x39, 223 rem/556 Nato, 545x39 (and 762x51). So, just because it looks like an AK47/74 from profile, does not mean much, it may well be chambered in 223/556.

As a renowned politician once stated “ what does it matter at this point?”.

The fact is nutcase murdered people, whether the means to so do was a flamethrower, a propane tank or a pick up truck or a firearms is immaterial at this point. Look to England- firearms are banned for the most part, so knives are common weapons, now pointy knives are being banned. Soon, Brits are gonna have to eat baby food....while crazies beat them about the head with a glass bottle....

We need to arm ourselves at every lawful opportunity, stand ready and insure that our elected officials know that we will not part with our arms and that they need to fix the problems that actually drive these atrocities into fruition. It ain’t the guns (o r knives or vehicles or gas cans and matches), boys and girls, its the idiots behind them.
