If such firearms were illegal, I’m sure that Aaron Luther would have obeyed the law...not!

You’re about the only one. She’s one of the more popular cosplay characters. It works well if the girl is sufficiently smokin.

That it was homemade from parts bought individually doesn’t make it a “ghost gun.” The only serialized (and traceable) item on an AR is the lower receiver, which has to have been created with a serial number if it was bought from a commercial source. It could only be a “ghost gun” if the lower was made from an 80% blank or otherwise completely homemade, in which case no serial number is required.

Unless it was a serialized part with the serial number removed, which itself is a felony.

Assault Rifles (because ARmalite doesn’t fit)

Automatic rifles/pistols (because they’re black and look automatically evil)

Silencers ( because suppressors don’t really silence)

Ghost Guns (My ASS. There isn’t a serial numbered component commercially made for firearms that can’t be traced from point of sale to buyer)

The Left loves to manipulate the language to fit their anti-gun message.

I’m NOT at all sure if it was originally an AMD-65 or not. - IF it was it’s NOT the version pictured in my books.- The BEST thing about the parts kit that I bought was that it was “dirt cheap”.= 60 bucks.
(Inasmuch as I only paid 10 bucks for the new/surplus barrel, that I bought from another “builder” & that I used on the build, I didn’t much care. = I have only about 125.oo total in my “junk box AK”.)

The “parts kit” came with a fixed stock, which was WAY TOO SHORT for my long arms. = I bought the replacement on “The Worldwideweird”, of a material that looks similar to the plastic stock on an M-16.
(As I said, ONE of the things that I like about “building” a weapon is that I like the fact that I can build whatever pleases ME.)

One thing that I find “rather interesting” is that numerous people, who looked at my “sort of an AK”, invariably INSIST on telling me that they would have built something really different than I built. = So far, I’ve resisted the temptation to tell any of the “critics” that when/if they build their “AK clone” that they are FREE to build whatever they want.
(When/IF I build my “junk box truck carbine”, which will be only about 27 inches long, with the stock folded, I feel sure that everyone will tell me what they would have done differently on that one, too.)

Yours, TMN78247

I saw a documentary about the people who make these; genuinely impressive how folks with really crude technology can make something quite capable of putting you in the ground at 10-15 yards.

Nothing to compare to a nice, tuned, high end 1911 type, but more than sufficient for jacking a load of drugs or blowing someone’s brains out at 5-10 yards. Made from scratch. (maybe we could just tell the lefties these are “Artisanal”)

You are correct except in the case of “80%” AR lowers, AK receiver plates, and some other kits that are legal and available and considered paper weights by coded definition.

Correct. Again, I cite BUDK - they have complete AR build kits, including the lower parts kit but less the lower, for $499, and no FFL needed. Separately, they have 80% polymer lower kits, including jig kit and drill bits, for $85, no FFL needed. Assemble, add a 30 round mag or two, and off you go. Privately owned, 100% legal. They don’t ship either to CA or NY, so it looks like door-to-door got legislated out of existence already.

You can buy 80% lowers and the jigs and bits to finish them.
The rest of the parts don’t require any paperwork because they are just parts.
It is still legal in most states to build your own.
