Denial isn’t just a river in Egypt. I don’t think most people realize how close the Carolinas are to becoming blue states. Georgia, also. It’s now 10%+ Hispanic and faces the same blue state transplant issues.

“Denial isn’t just a river in Egypt.”

The Republican Party in NC should be called the denial party. My 75 year old GOP Congresswoman behaves like we are living in the first term of George W. Bush, not 2019. If the Democrats would run a young pretend moderate with military credentials, or a respectable and safe appearing middle aged business person they could have the 5th District in a walk. Fortunately they continue to run weak leftist candidates.

Burr and Tillis have been major disappointments. Burr is pure establishment, a Karl Rove puppet. Tillis seems to have fully embraced the establishment in DC. His office won’t answer a letter and he seems to have no strong convictions. A halfway decent Democrat candidate who doesn’t come across as Marianne Williamson or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will take the Senate seat from Tillis next year.
